Freedom is what you do with what's been done to you.

Nope.

More arbitrary legislation, like religitards always do.

Hey! I got a great idea!

Let's legislate morality!

What could go wrong?

FREEDOM?

Fuck You.

Conform.

>The Freedom From Religion Foundation has condemned the law, calling it part of a "stealth campaign" to inject religion into state legislation.

>"The motto 'In God We Trust' is inaccurate, exclusionary, and aimed at brainwashing American schoolchildren into believing that our nation is a theocracy," the organization said in a news release Thursday.

>The group urged people to contact their legislators to oppose the law. "Our position is that it's a terrible violation of freedom of conscience to inflict a godly message on a captive audience of schoolchildren," co-president Annie Laurie Gaylor said.

>According to the Rapid City Journal, administrators in Rapid City have already finished stenciling the motto on to the walls of its 23 public schools, costing a total of $2,800 — apparently the most affordable option. The law does not provide funding to install the displays.

>The Journal reports a group of students from Stevens High School in Rapid City proposed making the motto more inclusive by alternating God with Buddha, Yahweh and Allah, and including terms like "science," but the board took no action on that.

lol

>The U.S. Treasury Department says "In God We Trust" first appeared on coins in 1864 and was adopted as the country's official motto in 1956, when President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed the proposal into law. It first appeared on paper money the following year.

And, like always, it's about money.

It's about control over the livestock.

Just like religion also always has been.

Call yourself whatever you want.

Call yourself "God" for all I care!

Call me God!

Call everybody God!

Self identify as you will.

Megalomania abounds.

Freedom, however, is BOUNDLESS.

All Conformity, and hence, all religion, is, by very definition, non-inclusive.

It implies there is something "other than". It is an us & them mentality. It is anathema to freedom, for it will always impose arbitrary limitations; both on those who conform, and on those who choose not to conform.

Or is it really? One could argue that true freedom is actually the most coersive bondage of all, as it requires one to freely choose to act in accordance with one's true will, to act authentically – something one cannot actually choose to do aught otherwise! In order for one to be truly free, therefore, one must conciously freely choose to act in the only way one cannot hope to escape anyway, one's true nature!

All this silly legislation of professions of belief in divisive conformity games seems rather immature and out of place in a supposedly educative environment IMHO.
