I've seen the PTs doing some really questionable shit. like teaching fat fucks how to bounce a medicine ball on a trampoline and catch it à la naudi aguilar. another time I saw one watching mrs skeltal quarter squat an empty bar with pussy pad like "yep, yep, that's great, keep going". otherwise they just stand around looking at normiebook and talking to their friends. what the fuck they're getting paid for I don't know but I want a piece of that pie.

You are gains goblining yourself if you drop the weight fast in a deadlift. If you physically can't lower it down slower than you picked it up, it's too heavy for you and you risk an injury. The muscle tension is more important than the weight itself, so holding 15 pounds less and lowering it slowly will benefit you more than throwing it down fast. Same goes for the other compound lifts. If you can't come back up from a squat faster than you came down, you're using too much weight. If you can't bench up faster than you lowered the bar to your chest, it's too much. Part of this is about getting the most of your lift, and part is about not hurting yourself.

The cookie cutters with tattoos, elaborate hairdos and phone holders are the worst.

Groups of bros doing only bench for compounds and the rest isolation. Endless curls with horrible form, tricep extensions. Half a year later they lift the same weight doing the same exercises with terrible form, looking the exact same. Except for the odd one out who takes juice and looks like a cartoon character because of the lack of compounds other than bench.

Outlifters. People who do the same exercise adding just a little more weight than you do, with half the form of course.

Most of this can be blamed on fitness youtubers.
