Everyone using this?

ps: in summary there is great info for everything /fit/ related on him website,

though some of the stuff is kinda hard for me to figure out since english is not my primary language

so /thread for everything related, question answers and whatnot

 No.120634

as an example, I'm trying to figure out what the exercise template they gave me at the gym

currently I do the following:

> four days a week

> A and B schedules, each day focusing on different muscles

> for upper body, 3 series for each muscle (3 series for triceps + 3 for biceps)

> every series with 3 rounds of 10 reps at least, 12 reps for legs

 No.120651

i want a meal planner that actually cares about vitamins and minerals and let me choose to have a high antioxidant intake

 No.120659

>>120651

the vitamins thing is actually a good point, you should give feedback to that, he likes them

though there is quite a lot of information on ingredients and their nutritional values,

and almost everything to pick from there is definitely rich vitamins and essentials

>sign up for MFP because I want to track micros

>wade through the endless branding and spam sent my way

>clearly geared toward cardio skeletons

>add a couple meals to get a breakdown

>it's only macros and like a few vitamins

I guess I'll have to painstakingly make notes of each ingredient for every meal I ever eat.

> me no speak americano!…

anyone can someone explain me pic related

are you suppose to change weights within each rep? (reduced repetitions)

 No.120711

>>120702

It says "supersets" so yes, you change the weight to be heavier as you do less reps. I find that annoying.

 No.120712

>>120711

I don't think that whats meaning superset in that case,

but it means to do one set of each exercise right after the other sequentially before repeating the same exercise

not every superset has varying number of reps, anyway, are you supposed to increase weight?

 No.120722

and god, really need to start tracking nutrition too,

how does that app work? free foss?

granted, scooby nutrition tool not very complete, but its good for a starting basis

 No.120831

come one guys, need to make better use here, what else do you use?

 No.120847

I use mymacros+ for counting macros. It's okay, I guess. I have no idea how to count them otherwise without taking a long time. Their food database is shitty and takes some common sense discernment.

I used to use the Scooby calorie counter. Except all online counters are inaccurate. They give a decent estimate but it's better to go get your body composition analyzed. I've been lifting for two years and regret not doing it sooner. My bmr is 200 calories more than what any calculator online told me.

 No.120855

>>120847

so how can you get accurate counting on this? what else body composition needs to be taken into account?

in either case I think everything is more of average instead being accurate at all, from body composition, calorie intake and to even each food nutrition values, everything is sort of a approximate estimation

 No.120876

>>120855

When you use an online calculator, it will give you a rough estimate of your BMR or RMR based on your weight. It doesn't take into account your body fat %.

I did the hydrostatic test, which is said to be the most accurate method of getting your body fat %. I found out that a lot of my weight was muscle instead of fat. So I was actually eating under my BMR while cutting. The online calorie counters won't be able to take this into account.

I'll continue my post in the next one.

 No.120877

>>120855

>so how can you get accurate counting on this?

i think you're right. using an online calculator, you can only get an estimate. maybe the best you can do is make sure you eat at least 100-200 cal more than the BMR result.

>what else body composition needs to be taken into account?

as far as I know, none of the calculators that I found online gave me the BMR that I received when doing the hydrostatic test. so i have no idea how they even got the number they did. (btw, they give you a test result paper with your bf%, RMR, lean mass, and water mass. i'm gonna assume they're accurate.)

I found this:

http://nutrition.bizcalcs.com/Calculator.asp?Calc=Lean-Mass-RMR

however i was still unable to reproduce the same number using my BF%. it's probably best to just use the calculators as a guideline and just test the calorie numbers until you find what works for you for diet and nutrition.

Scooby himself was planning on adding those to his website, but I've guess is not done yet…

And secondly, what up with leg day? why is there basically only deadlift and squat exercises? what happened to those other ones?

 No.122282

>>122161

>is there a wiki compendium on exercises anywhere??

Yeah, in the sticky. Most if not all of these exercises are on his website as well, you just have to look for them.

 No.123921

Just noticed scooby released his new mealplanner

looks good but has paid features

 No.123927

>>123921

>fitness is free

>but now you gotta pay me for what i did for free in the past

 No.123929

>>123927

yeah sad, though it really doesn't take that much

the free version is basically the same thing as the meal planner was before

he just added the ability to customize it, create own recipes and whatnot

its nothing fancy that couldn't do if you apply yourself, but also its not that expensive either

and to be fair, he doesn't even have ads in his website

 No.123931

>>123927

From what scooby said the pay version was for people who don't want to eat veggies.

Is meal planning really that hard? been in my routine for over a yr now and don't think about it much.

 No.123946

>>123929

>>123931

The bigger feature we lost from the previous meal planner is the macros ratio config

 No.123962

>>123946

yeah that, and really it doesn't work that well

it suggested me 1kg meals, better off on your own

>>123931

did you never think about what? having a meal plan?

it you're not keeping track of nutrition your not gonna make it
