It's not too late to make yourself healthier if that's what you're asking. It's certainly too late if you want to compete or get to human limitations in weightlifting, but that shouldn't be your goal.

With a strict routine you could be mildly aesthetic by the time you're thirty and capable of getting laid by some hot MILFs. Hell, you could probably do it in a year and a half if you really committed yourself. It's possible for fatties like you to lose 50-100lbs in a year.

You can healthily lose 1lb/week without exercise, and up to 2lbs/week with exercise. Exercise means cardio, as in 20-30 minutes on lifting days, and 50-70 minutes on cardio days, with only one rest day per week. If you lose more than ~80lbs in a year as a fatty, you're gonna have a bunch of health problems and get loose skin (which is fugly as all shit). Literal ham planets can lose more than that since they'll have loose skin regardless, but at your weight and age it's a bad idea.

You need a year and a half minimum if you want to do this in a sustainable and healthy manner, OP.

Almost 34 here. About two and a half years ago, I was 5'8" and 235. I found out I was cruising for high BP when I got a wound stapled. Today, I'm around 160 with a respectable amount of muscle (defined biceps, killer legs and butt, visible 6-pack, noticeable pecs). I had to take it slow, changing bit by bit to make sure I could stay with the changes.

Started with cutting back on soda and committing to riding my bike on any errand within range (soon found a shower at work, 5 miles away from home). I did the research and cut out more and more unhealthy stuff as time went on. I switched to meat and eggs for breakfast and cut carbs. Always slow changes.

When spring rain kept me from riding my bike (I bought winter gear), I had formed good enough habits to switch to weightlifting (I use the info in "Starting Strength").

Well with your weight, I suggest you cut for the rest of the year. Don't bother with weights yet. For your diet, read the sticky. If you're a food addict, then either start with a total diet change or try just cutting out something like soda or processed sugars. I don't suggest calorie counting for a beginner fat fuck because you'll probably do it wrong or get lazy. Since you're fat anyway, try low carb, keto, or just simply go for a bro diet.

You're gonna need to do cardio every day. I suggest swimming or walking. You carry most of your fat on your stomach so you're probably not that mobile. Start from 30 minutes, then go up to no more than 60 minutes. Once you're at something like under 220 lbs, or maybe when the cardio doesn't work as well as it used to, you can start lifting 3-4 days a week following a program. You don't need to wait to get down to ideal weight to start building muscle. It'll probably stall the weight loss, but everyone will tell you how good you look after a few months. I personally don't recommend waiting for you to get down to ideal weight before starting a bulk. If I were in your place, I'd rather be strong fat for a long time than skinny fat. It'll probably be better for your skin, too.

Also, I request that you update us with progress pics on the current body thread once in a while. You can do it, Brazil.

Diet: I will basically be eating a plate composed of 750g of chicken breast, 150ml of milk cream, one tomato, one onion, garlic, butter, pepper and salt every day and some nuts, an egg, small greenies portion,, avocado and other fruits four hours later.

Routine:

Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday -> From 3 to 6 reps of a handstand pushup variation immediately followed by a pullup variation into squat into leg raise into pushup into bridge. Rest, and then repeat two more times.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday -> Gradul HIIT using exercise bike that I bought cheaply.

Saturday -> Fuck obese girls. Cook something different, but still paleo, so I won't go insane.

I get a little more than 170g of protein from that, the major portion of my 180g of daily protein (1.4g of protein per kilo, benefits until 1.8g per kilo). Reducing it to 1/3 would leave me below the protein minimum that I would need if my life was sitting in the coach all day. Also, it tastes delicious.

First time (three years ago) I started to lose weights I reverted back after 2-3 months and lost all my progress at sanic speed. I'd say the biggest advice I can give would be to indulge yourself with some decent, but still relatively healthy meals here and there. Well, it has been one month.

I did fuck up for most of that time, trying to get things started, but I think that I at least got a good routine going now.

Standing at 119,4kg/263 pounds.

This is my current routine:

Wake up at 7:00, eat some nuts, a cup of milk and a fruit. Go and do some minor things, and at 9:00 I will do HIIT using a stationary bicycle (M/W/F) or calisthenics (T/T/S). I will start with close grip chins, then do pushs, then leg raises, then wide grip pulls, then dips then finish with squat. Rest for about two minutes, and repeat another two times.

Around 22:00, I will take a walk to think about my day and relax, usually returning at 22:30, taking a shower and instantly sleeping after.

Also you should consider buying a dumbbell set. Your fat won't be there forever and you'll need to add weight to your exercises to get anything out of them. They're also pretty cheap if you buy them used.

Now at 114,8kg/253 pounds, I feel that I things could have been better, but six days ago I got hit by a bicycle while walking, which really fucked me up. I should resume my routine in one week, but at least I am keeping the diet solid.

Another month is gone.

While my routine has become more solid, I did slip more with the diet, while also making it stricter (I might miss all that cream). I have also been taking creatine (because I won a stupid lottery buying whey), guaraná in the morning (instead of caffeine) and some more whey to make sure that I hit 160g of protein every day.

Now at 111,8kg/246 pounds, I am starting to feel like a human being again. Energy is great, sex became many times better and I could swear that a girl was hitting on me the other day.

Even if my progress has been less significant than in the other months, I feel that it is somewhat fine, and I expect to hit those double digit kilos somewhere in march.

So, /fit/, while we are at it, tell me, are supplements a meme? I know that protein is protein and caffeine keeps me awake in the morning, but what about creatine, fish oil and multis? Should I even bother with those?

You can do it but you have to ask yourself why you were fat in the first place and fix it. Be honest with yourself. Eating too much? No exercise? Mental illness? Stress?

I've been in the same situation multiple times, 5'10 and maxed out at 310lbs once, because of my alcoholism. I'd binge drink every day for like half a year and get really fat then quit and start being healthy again. I'd just stop drinking, eat whatever while counting calories and eating enough protein, lift and get out more and just walk around. It's not hard for me to lose weight, I'd hardly eat when I was drinking. I'd drink at least 2k calories of alcohol a day plus eat a 500-1k calorie meal after I ran out of beer and take vitamins and drink plenty of water before sleep. I never had any hangovers.

I have schizoaffective so that makes me want to drink a lot when I'm depressed as fuck. It's like the meds stop working after a while so I stop taking them and start drinking then I start taking the meds again and stop drinking. It's a never ending cycle. I'll probably die within the next decade.

At the end of May I weighed 280, was sleeping horribly and waking up with backpain and had resting fat person breath bad. So I decided to get fit again or die. Since then Ive gotten down to 234lbs.

I usually do about 1 1/2 hours to two hours of exercising a day, with two days a week just doing cardio.

Ive cut out soda 100% and sweets to super limited. The only days Ill have anything like take-out or pizza are on cheat days, about once every two weeks, though sometimes its once a week. Besides that Ive been sticking yo chicken, salmon, and lean turkey as my main sources of protein and just veggies for my carbs. Nuts and cheese for snacks, but limited on those as well.

I know I still have a long way to go before I make it. Then I have to maintain it and build muscle on top of it, but it feels better to not wake up with a sore back and wore clothes that fit again instead of a 2xx.

Either way, he should be doing some program before cardio. Cardio fucking sucks, no one wants to do it, you have to have something to come back to the gym.

Seriously, do StrongLifts. If you're poor, you don't need a personal trainer, you just need somewhere with a barbell and a power rack. Just watch Mark Rippletoe's videos, download the Starting Strength book off of libgenesis or buy it you cheap fuck, another good one is Alan Thrall's how-to videos (the most recent ones, especially the deadlift tutorial.)

Start on that. Let your body become accustomed to it. And by that, I mean get some weight onto the bar and start feeling the soreness. Then a month into it start doing cardio on off days. Hell, if you haven't squatted, just doing a proper squat form check without the bar (sort of like a praying mantis) and you'll probably wake up sore just because of your body weight.

Squat. Squat some more. Squat. Deadlift. Overhead Press. Bench. Power clean. Squat. Whatever. But just lift, and cardio on off days.

I'm a fat fuck and I've lost 40 lbs doing this in six months, WHILE becoming stronger and adding lean mass. Diet (slightly below BMR, 125g of protein a day at least), strength training, and cardio on off days. Lifting is the only thing that keeps me coming back. Cardio is the bane of my existence, but the strength and muscle really helps your weight loss.

Tbh I don't even know why this needs to be said, if you had read the sticky, but I felt like saying it anyways. Once you get addicted to gainz, especially newbie gainz, you will want to keep going to the gym.

Go do StrongLifts 5x5. Don't make any more excuses. Excuses are for the weak. Go lift a fucking bar, and put your ass on a treadmill on off days.

Also, to add to this, don't make it HIIT at first. I mainly just do steady state because I have the time. In both cases you should do the DESIGNATED treadmill dogshit after your strength training sets, maybe 30 minutes max on lift days, but HIIT is 25 minutes of hell if you do it right. That and diet, and the weight melts off. There's no reason it should not, you will have guaranteed it with the trifecta of diet, muscle, and cardio.

Anything else is just an excuse you want to make to yourself. The most important thing that I realized in all of my attempts before, 20 lbs here and there only to gain it back, is that I wasn't cheating anyone but myself.

Obviously, the only one who loses when you cheat yourself, is yourself. So why even bother with the excuses.

Yes, you have potential. It's been about 7 months and seen crazy results. You have to work your arse off, be motivated, not be lazy, keep going when it feels like you can't, make it your new addiction. You also have to change your diet drastically. Portion sizes count. 1 fist of meat, 2 fist sizes of veggies. Less starch. If you do eat starchy foods, do so during lunch. Eat protein in the evenings. Eat 2 hours before sleeping. Don't do cardio only or else you'll lose the weight easily but when you take a break you'll put on even more weight than you began with because your metabolism has slowed down. Think you have lots of hope but you need to stop shitposting and go join a cheap, local gym and give it your all. same age as you. it is possible. You just have to act. the biggest difficulty is actually putting on your shoes and shorts and starting.

I was 270 and dropped down to 190 in about 8 months with low carb. Had more muscle than you to start, but still it was a lot of fat lost. When you're obese you can lose an absurd amount of weight very quickly. It only gets harder once you're down to normal body fat percentage.

Memes aside, swimming is a great exercise, to reduce muscle unevenness and instability in upper back and a great cardio workout. Swim reasonable distances and don't overestimate your own strength. If it's possible, incorporate swimming in your daily routine. If you don't believe me, just look at the arms and upper bodies of oly swimmers or water polo guys. They have really nice physique.
