What are the best movies of the Neuer Deutscher Film movement? I already know Herzog, but what about works from other directors? Interesting reads about this topic are also appreciated

Fassbinder has a pretty rich filmography. There's Marriage of Maria Braun, Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant, Ali: Feat Eats the Soul, Fox and His Friends, Fear of Fear…

World on a Wire is currently my favourite but there are many I still need to see.

The Tin Drum is another solid choice as introduction to this period of German films.

Thanks, I already started watching some works from Fassbinder. Do you have anything from Kluge to suggest? What about Haro Senft, is he good?

I haven't seen it yet, but i have been recommended Willi Tobler by Kluge, looks really interesting as well

I think Yesterday Girl is another important one from Alexander Kluge. It's more of a political film, somewhat like The Tin Drum.

I don't know much about Haro Senft unfortunately.
