What are you doing to prepare for the inevitable, chummers? Prepared for your SIN?

But really, what is to be done? And in general, why don't we have a place like this in onionland? At the moment, we're just a bunch of nobodies talkin dreck but still, as we are right now, we might as well register ourselves as "potential threats" with the local pig office

Most people are too dumb to realize this sort of surveillance is coming any time soon. Most still think of this as science fiction.

About five years ago I had an argument with a programmer with a CS degree about whether or not toll booth cameras were keeping track of license plates for all vehicles that drove through. He thought that it would require too much computing power and storage capacity to do this continuously 24/7.

Frankly this kind of tech already exists in the Western world too - it's just that it's not serving the government, but rather the interests of technology conglomerates and multinational corporations.

If you've got a smart phone, there's already a profile for you sitting on a server somewhere, complete with pictures (even if you haven't taken any), browsing habits, commonly contacted friends, and speech patterns.

How could someone in tech not know about ANPR in 2013? It was old as fuck even then.

Face recognition is less effective if facial expressions vary. A big smile can render the system less effective.

You will have to walk around giving the

O Face

Degrees are such a load of shit.

>computing power runs out over time

>year 2013 and he doesn't know OCR can be done on any piece of shit smartphone

And the worst fucking part

>storage capacity

License plates are only 7 bytes. A 16gb flashdrive from your local megacorp breadline center would be able to hold more than 2 billion license plate numbers.

Where does that video come from? I know it's probably from China, but anything more specific? What system is it?

Build both a normal profile for myself in the system and on the other end build up skills and knowledge to help me avoid it in other ways.

There is no escape from the surveillance state, like a straight jacket the more you struggle the tighter it'll bare down onto you.

Instead give them the illusion of being a "good boy". Play vidya on my windows machine, post pictures on my social media, have a normal email I do shit with. Post on reddit about my hobbies, etc, etc. So my profile looks like a "normal" citizen.

While my other machines are locked down tightly audited *nixs, use jump hosts or wifi networks not my own to keep up my dual life. Multiple networks and multiple cell phones.

I'm working to hide myself from as much as I can from nation states and corporations alike by working on minimizing my connection to the clear-net. I don't have social media or connect to any normie sites that require them to know who I really am (besides shopping shit).

I've been also working on VPNing everything, and keeping it separated/segmented from each other. For example, I got a VPN for ebay/amazon and other online purchase, one for other clear-net browsing (reddit/4ch etc) and others for various things on the clear-net. I try to minimize my time on the clearnet though and make as much use of Tor as I can, and I have a dedicated VPN just to connect to Tor as well. I'm hoping to one day fully just stay in darket networks like Tor/i2p/freenet full time, with no need to access the clearnet. My own infrastructure is currently all behind (mumble servers, IRC servers, gitlab, nextcloud VPNs and I'm begining to migrate them to Tor for further anonymity.

All my personal computers do not have intel ME and are coreboot/librebooted.
