Fuck off, Reddit has it's uses. If I want news on a chan I can go to /pol/, where I have to filter out a ton of low effort shit about jews, or /news/, which has threads on the front page right now which are a week old.
Contrast that with /worldnews/ on Reddit where everything on the front page is less than a day old and the links to the articles are front and center, rather than idiot OPs capping the headline and going "NONONONONONONONO" then not bothering to include an archive link or even bother copying the text.
You want to talk about how pussified the userbase is then that's fine, but the fact is the signal to noise ratio on most of Reddit beats most imageboards hands down.

Its funny you say that because I'm known for writing really long 'letter' emails to my friends but the difference is that here the topics that get written on here extensively are often really pointless and dumb. Half the time it will be two people in a mind numbing duel about semantics for page after page derailing interesting topics.
The only really long-form conversations that are justifiable here are tech-related ideas/explanations that often can't fit into a smaller post because you have to unpack layers of abstraction for people who aren't used to jargon often. The meandering philosophical whimsicalness is often hopelessly boring and skimmable. There is often not a very good content vs word-count ratio to justify these rambles.
