in the end, everyone disavowed it and all of the blame was shifted to one of their interns who supposedly runs their social media accounts

Game Grumps has far from the number of fans it did back in 2024, but it still uploads daily videos that are watched by hundreds of thousands everyday. Meanwhile JonTron, while having millions of fans, only releases a video every few months. Obviously, this is the right thing to do, quality vs quantity. But those daily videos from Arin’s loyal fanboys add up to a much higher annual view count than Jon. It’s depressing then that he therefore makes much more cash than not only Jon, but most good gaming channels as well.

Sounds about right. Outside of "Best of (Month/Year)" compilations, they only started doing other kinds of "Best-of" compilations recently. Interestingly but unsurprisingly, Jon-era moments aren't present. So nothing from the Grant Kirkhope episode showed up in the "Best of Guest Grumps" compilation, or did the Sonic 06 "WHAT IS THIS" moment show up in the "Arin raging" compilation.
