Between their credit cards and the high interest loans they've taken out repeatedly? I'd guess they're at least $50k in the hole. Probably much more. What I'm seeing here is:
1. They plowed through the money Bob left when they plowed through Michael Snyder (kek)
2. They ran up credit card debt during this period when Chris went mostly dark, mostly paying the minimums.
3. When these came close to the limit they took out more credit cards, including store cards.
4. At some point around here, they took out another mortgage on their house.
5. As other bills came due they first used credit cards to pay them, then began taking out high interest loans from more aggro (payday-type) lenders.
At this point they began using credit cards and aggro loans to pay just the interest and penalties on their multiple lines of credit and loans. Short of a miracle (lottery tickets, etc) there is really no way to pull out of this spiral anymore other than BKing out.
