I'm sure it's already been brought up in these threads before, but Lindsay Ellis is the embodiment of the failed trust fund kiddie.
On her parents' dime (and several unpaid government loans), she went to USC School of Cinematic Arts, one of the most prestigious private film schools in the nation. To put it into perspective, she was classmates and personal friends with Ryan Coogler, who went on to direct Creed and is currently directing Marvel Studio's Black Panther. (I believe he helped edit one of Lindsay's school projects or vice versa.) Obviously very few film school students are glowing success stories like Coogler, but finding some kind of job in the film industry is a small task at a school like USC. By virtue of the ludicrous tuition alone, it's an extremely elite and exclusive environment where making connections to score, at minimum, a shitty job as a set hand or cameraman should be easy if you put forth the minimum effort.
All Lindsay has to show for her parents' investment is that unfinished documentary about her kid she aborted. Now she spends her time making pretentious "video essays" about Disney cartoons and making passive-agressive jabs at infinitely more successful youtubers like JonTron >>251340 who didn't make the mistake of going to film school.
