How the fuck is this show so good despite being so low key and uneventful?

Mike does too it's mostly the rest of the cast and lack of writing that are it's worst flaws, it still manages to be alright.

1. Mike Tyson himself being as close as you'll ever get to meeting a Looney Toon.
2. Noam McDonald.
The rest of Mysteries team range from annoying (Yung) to faggy (Marquess). They should have just revolved the show around Mike and his pigeon. More like the older version of the show.

I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but it's Mike and Norm carrying the show. On top of that, they do a good job at making it all seem so natural. You could almost believe that this show is actually what Mike does in his spare time. And Mike is a great fit for a wacky cartoon like this given his normally benign idiotic personality mixed with occasional bouts of violent rage.

>/co/, once again, has no idea how comedy works
Comedy is created through conflict. The characters in Mike Tyson Mysteries serve to create that conflict.

Yung and Marquess aren't funnny though.

It was from an older version of the show during production before they made Marquess and Yung. Mike and Pigeon had a talking car.

Having short episodes is a big advantage. It makes it harder to run jokes into the ground, and there is no need to stretch the premise or to rely on A plot + B plot format.

They are, ironically enough, the 'straight men of the show.' They act as counterweights to pigeons' and Mike's shenenigans and are something to bounce jokes off of.
