Or do you mean something like an american property done by Japan? Those are rare but do happen. Usually with superheroes. The Red Turtle was probably the best of out recent west-japan collaborations. It was nice to see a an animated film that does not rely on celebrity voice actors because it drops dialogue to focus on visual storytelling.

This is about to come out tomorrow. With Shiori Teshirogi of Saint Seiya Lost Canvas fame doing the writing and art. It's interesting we're seeing more Japanese takes on DC's characters. But there's a real missed opportunity here with the designs. Batman is the only one with a unique design while everyone else is modeled after their New 52 looks. This works against it not just because it isn't unique but because New 52 designs ruined the classic staples of costumes. Namely the trunks of Batman and Superman just being completely removed.
