Yes, that's exactly what yaldabaoth, I mean Jesus, wants you to believe.

Because God created you to worship him, right? And to only think the right things, because, you know, even questioning him is heresy and that's a straight ticket to you know where.
Wait, don't only narcissistic psychopaths need worship?

Maybe your bible has been edited for content.
Maybe something evil made sure it was put together in way to support a particular narrative.
One of unquestioning blind obedience.
The kind of narrative a narcissistic psychopathic spiritual parasite would love to see being played out on the children of light.

Maybe Jesus didn't come so you could sit in a pew once a week while someone tells you what to think.
Maybe they just arbitrarily left out all the practical spiritual information you would need to defend yourself in this corrupt world.

Maybe that's why the church went from being a radical underground movement that even being associated with could cost you your life, to being
>It's an issue that belongs to the realm of law - not religion

And maybe the real church is moving on without you blind, obsequious, evil justifying, Christ-on-a-stick-ians

>Dumbasses who have no authority to interpret scripture
Tell me who has the authority to interpret?
Come on tell me a bible verse that says that the pedofucker pope has the right to to interpet
Tell me a biblical source that allows anyone to establish dogmas and doctrine

Where the fucking find you, that god gives anyone right to interpret what GOD has commanded.

Scripture is Devine, itself is the living word of god.
God does not need a interpreter he is not a dumbass.
Scripture interpret itself.
If you need childfucker in a black dress to tell you what a verse means, then you are a idiot, you dont deserve to know the truth.

I think you'd just be more comfortable realizing your doubts in this destructive religion are true. All the gods are false, and you have evidence before as to why you should follow such a horrid, disgusting book like the Holy Bible. Please, help yourself. Do your own research. Reaffirm your disbelief. Live a truly free and happy life, because this is the only one you get. You can be a woman if you try to. Be happy and free.

>Not an Atheist V. Christian debate club

Message:

>all the evidence backed that up
You're clearly severely prone to confirmation bias, because all the evidence does not back that up, by a long shot. That's not a biased statement, I'm not even saying that most evidence doesn't back that up. It's just an indisputable fact.

>my own heart screamed for it

This is an emotional response, which is the opposite of reason, facts, and logic.

Being raised an atheist does not make you any more sensible or reasonable. Atheists are not inherently more logical than any other kind of person. You simply weren't subject to the indoctrination that most children in religious families experience. Many children are raised Christian and still become atheist, there is no reason it should be notable that anyone goes the other way.

>logic can't be messed with.

You're clearly not familiar with critical thinking, because logic can easily be messed with. That's the entire point of the oft-mocked concept of "logical fallacies." They are the perfect example of how logic absolutely can be messed with.

As for the "literal feeling that God exists," it's a natural consequence of buying into "believing God, not just believing in God." You most likely will never feel it because you converted based on research rather than faith. In order to experience that particular placebo effect, you have to truly, unquestioningly believe that God is real. It's the same reason that optical illusions fall flat once you see through them once; if your mind has any reason to question what it's perceiving, it won't accept it. Sorry, anon.

If people don't like what I told you to do, simply tell them that I knew that they would disagree.

That means I'm absolutely right and by proxy, you would be right, as well.

Only me, Jesus, son of God, could predict something like that. It's my badge of holy divinity.

So, if I tell you that you will go to a 'heaven' after you die if you believe in me and someone says "no" then that just shows that I was saying the truth because I called the disagreement.

Checkmate, atheists!

He's on the wrong side of the "is God a moral monster?" question

He's really missing even the most basic outline, I'm tempted to think he stopped reading a few chapters in. God allows Satan to test Job, knowing that Job is righteous. He goes through terrible circumstances, we read in depth of his outlook, then God multiplies his wealth in the end in honor of his faithfulness

The most immediate message is that Job provides an example for us to follow, and forms a type to Christ

This isn't right. Job still had sin in him, and God exposed it – if he did not, then he wouldn't have need to be corrected and repent as he does in the very end.

Nevertheless, the whole point of the book is that God is God, and whatever happens, know that if God is completely righteous, it cannot be "wrong".

Fedora anon >>41 may be baiting, but probably has no idea what he's talking about. He starts with the premise that God should behave Himself according to anon's own standard, that his judgement of God is rational. He slams God for being "childish", establishes himself as more righteous than God – "then I must as a compassionate person" –and comprehensively misunderstands the entire message of the book.

But, he's fedora, what would one expect?

I guess it probably doesn't deserve a ban for that alone, but it wasn't for that post alone.

<They sell guardian angel paraphernalia…

The Catholic practice of praying to angels is more than a little questionable, but that's not what I've heard about /christian/'s BO. The word is that he communes with his "guardian angel" as in actual two-way communication and thinks he gets special powers from doing devotions. That's basically magic.

>The Catholic practice of praying to angels is more than a little questionable

It's polytheism. They worship the "host of heaven"

Deuteronomy 17-

>If there is found among you, within any of your gates which the Lord your God gives you, a man or a woman who has been wicked in the sight of the Lord your God, in transgressing His covenant,

3 who has gone and served other gods and worshiped them, either the sun or moon or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded,

4 and it is told you, and you hear of it, then you shall inquire diligently. And if it is indeed true and certain that such an abomination has been committed in Israel,

5 then you shall bring out to your gates that man or woman who has committed that wicked thing, and shall stone to death that man or woman with stones.

Catholicism is Babylonian mysticism disguised as Christianity. This is why catholic clergy rape kids and engage in homosexuality- those sins are a sacrament to babylonian gods. Anyone that has ever studied the symbology of Babylonian mysticism will see that every catholic building is adorned with symbols of pagan Gods and idols that they call saints to keep their true faith secret. The symbols of remphan, saturn, moloch, venus/lucifer, lillith, dagon, and a whole host of wicked pagan deities can be found in the vatican.

The Catholics use the "we don't worship them; we just pray directly to them" excuse with angels. What I don't get is why the Catholics choose to have it that way even though they when questioned about Mary and the saints feel necessary to use the "we don't worship them; we don't pray directly to them; we just ask them to pray for us" excuse.

Nice trips, but where in the Bible does it say anything about that? The Bible tells us there is one mediator between man and God, the man Christ Jesus. It never says "hey you can get to God on your own, but it's probably best to go through a hierarchy that's never explicitly laid out, just to be sure".

Let’s think about this logically. Only Jesus can see the Father and there are people in the hierarchy between you and Jesus. You don’t chase down the prince every time you want a favor from the king. You go through people in the middle first and you’re probably more likely to get what you want from asking a neighbor anyway then going all the way to the top. Who’s more likely to help you, a perfect being who sees you as a filthy sinner and thinks your request is probably unhealthy anyway or some angel/saint who’s a fan of you because you’re similar to their personality?

The Bible literally tells us that Jesus is the one and only way to the Father. Making comparisons to humanity only works so far, and this is one of the cases where the comparison stops being accurate. The perfect being at the top "so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but shall have eternal life". I'd hardly compare that to a distanced king who thinks all his subjects are literal trash. That's not to say He'll grant all your wishes like some genie in a bottle, but He knows what's best for us and will help us to be righteous.

The Tale of Zacchaeus, the tax collector - Filtered through the poster's worldview:

*Zaccheaus runs up a tree to earnestly seek Jesus*

Jesus: Ummmm….. excuse me… what are you doing?

Zaccheaus: I..I'm seeking you with all my heart, my Lord…

Jesus: …..Uhhhh….wow….awwwwwwwwkward… Look dude, umm… you're kind've a filthy tax collector…. if you want to get on the list to see me, well, there's my Mom and Disciples back there. Maybe if you make nice with them, I miiiiiiiiiiiiiiight be willing to squeeze you in.

Filter tales like Jesus' healing the various blind men, the lepers, the man with a withered hand on a Sunday, the widow's son, the the official's daughter, the Centurion of great faith, the woman at the well, the teaching to people at the Sermon on the Mount etc. through these lens.

The point of Jesus' ministry is to portray his great desire to be a part of people's lives on a personal level - no longer divided from them under the Old Covenant. If you're not a troll (and even if you're a troll), you're basically spitting on Jesus' sacrifice on the cross to close the chasm between God and man.

The question that comes up for me: Is this a primarily North American issue? In Germany, where reformation originated from, Catholics and Protestants live happily along since Peace of Westphalia in 1648 and even share evangelical TV stations with each other.

This isn't policing, it's purging /christian/ of people who aren't Catholics or willing to kiss Catholic ass. I've racked up half a dozen permabans already for such non-offenses, because my provider changes my IP every few days.

I've had some uncomfortable Catholic encounters. I was an in-home PC technician 10+ years ago, and I was in this guy's house who was a devout Catholic. On the table next to his computer, he left a book with a stack of hundred dollar bills on it. I was looking at it wondering if he left it there as a test or something (it seemed conspicuous). So he comes in the room and sees me staring at it, and gives me the "gotcha" look. So I just ask him, "oh what's that book there" to make it look like I'm staring at something else. He gives me a very stern look and asks, "What religion are you?" I told him I'm a Christian, and he asks which denomination. "Non denom". He fires back, "that's not a religion.". I'm like, "yes it is, I read the Bible and believe in Jesus Christ". I had a colleague with me on this job and he's starting to look very uncomfortable and just blankly staring at the computer screen while this guy argues with me. He keeps insisting that I'm not a Christian, and he got himself so angry that I thought he was about to kick me out of his home. I just tried to be polite, I didn't argue any further than the first reply. Anyways, it turns out that the book was the Catholic Catechism. He never answered me about the book, I looked it up later.

Yeah, exactly what I mean. My other bans were just like that. It's a purge. They're losing on the argument side of things so they're banning.

You have to endure the baseless slander like that Orthodox are communists, but woe to you if you mention the Catholic child sex abuse scandal, or the sodomite Popes, or the Avignon Papacy, or the atheistic Mother Theresa, you'll get deleted/banned pretty quickly.

Blatant false-flags are tolerated as well, provided they're directed against Protestants/Orthodox. Pic related, supposed "Orthodox" makes an absolutely nonsensical OP to then get corrected by a "based" Catholic 7 just minutes later. Firstly, we do not gloat at the errors of our brothers, and secondly we don't demand that people submit to the Russian patriarch, only Papists do that. Notice the images too, the seated Russian Patriarch "represents Orthodoxy", while the seated Christ "represents Catholicism", while in reality the opposite is the case, since we have always claimed Christ as the head of our church, whereas the Catholics claim the Pope is head of theirs.

Yea. When I look at some Orthodoxy related threads in /christian/ I see this:

1. lots of anti-Moscow propaganda which, however,

2. is made by people who don't really understand the Orthodoxy but pretend to be Orthodox.

This is interesting because it is possible to devise a plausible (from Orthodox point of view) criticism for the Moscow Patriarch or the Russian Church. But nobody actually does this. Which makes me think that maybe the bad things we see at /christian/ are at least partially a side product of the propaganda war between US and Russia. These people act like elephants, powerful but stupid.

Its a shame tho. I went to that board with sympathy towards Catholics and hopes that schism would be healed. But utterly disgraceful behaviour of Catholics on that board "cured" me of that hope and aspirations. With years spent on that board with those self-righteous pharisees, I seriously have a hard time NOT to consider them to be lost cause. Every denomination had their share of utterly abhorrent posters, be it Orthodox, Lutherans, Baptists who were on par with leafs), but Catholics were only ones who managed to make that abhorrence institutionalized and consuming that board like a cancer.

It's just a reflection of how they are IRL. It's funny how even though we have larger theological differences with Protestants we seem to generally get along with them better, because we're both focused on finding the truth about the faith, whereas Catholics are focused on submitting to some nigger-foot-kissing pedophile in Rome.

Hey guys, my first time posting on this board from /christian/. You guys need a strong Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant mods and presence on this board, meaning you instaban any gnostics or heretics on the spot. That was what drew me to /christian/ and why I never browsed /christ/. Also you guys should have a similar setup like they do over there with a sticky mod thread and such. Familiarity is key here to draw refugess from that board for the time being. There are a group of original /christian/s on Rizon #8church as well so either get an IRC or Discord (or both).

Also, stop with the constant anti-Catholic screed because there really is no need, and I say this as a non-Roman Catholic Christian, people will come to where the action is. You can see that the /christian/ board is dying in the board rank list so this is your opportunity to take.

Hold on now, I'm Catholic, I've challenged the moderation policies there and got permabanned as a result of it. I've also consistently challenged the uneven moderation on /Christian/

Yeah there are bad Catholics, but you have to remember for a lot of people it's become an identity rather than a faith. Orthodox have this problem as well.

Also, I've been brought up Catholic and I don't recognize internet Catholics compared to the ones I see in Church. It's like night and day. And I suspect a lot of it is because internet Catholics aren't like me, they haven't really been around the faith, don't seem to have been brought up in the faith, and don't seem to be really immersed in the faith.

For example, there's a lot of latin mass Catholics on the net, but every latin mass service I've been to has had sparse attendance and very few young people. Most Catholics attend novus ordo mass and have no complaints about it.

Most Catholics are also very friendly of protestants. Of course we object to some aspects of protestantism - for example I'm against televangelists, prosperity preaching, speaking in tongues, Charismatic notions of anointment - but I think most of us recognize that's not every protestant denomination.

There are a lot of Catholics including priests who sometimes attend protestant services. Here's a catholic website teaching about this to avoid potential larpers who might complain

https://relevantradio.com/2017/10/as-a-catholic-can-i-go-to-a-protestant-service/

99% of all women in America who have sex use birth control, 98 % of Catholic women who have use birth control. Things in real Catholic services are a little more flexible

So I would argue a lot of internet Catholics aren't real Catholics. You can tell by the sparse replies you get to the "how was mass" threads on /Christian/ - I don't know if they still have them, but they don't get many replies - and the reason for that is because a lot of the Catholics on /Christian/ are larpers - that's one of the few things encylopedia dramatica got right about /Christian/

so going along with this, maybe our goal shouldn't be to steal /Christian/'s users or get bigger than /Christian/

Maybe our goal should be to build a Christian board that is genuinely Christian. One that flows with the love of God and glorifies God.

I was on /Christian/ when Alex first created that board and I remember what people said when they visited was, "there is a peacefulness about this board." And that was true, because it was about God. We had debates and arguments, but the end goal to everything was glorifying God.

Let's make /Christianity/ the board that /Christian/ was supposed to be before it got ruined

But the post itself was like a month old at least, making the late ban even more silly. I know the attitude considering I used to be a trad papist, it comes from thinking you're completely right and no Protestant could possibly hope to stand your arguments.

Also considering the fact that he's probably around the age of 14, there's youthful brashness to go along with this superiority complex.

It's a general rule that the more trad a papist is, the more arrogant they are. Especially if they have an online presence.

He says he's 20.

He's a converted atheist who made a metal tape at 16, so he probably was atheist at that time. He's very young at Christianity.

Let's not chit chat about this guy in particular any more while he's not here. It's liable to slide into gossip even though we're looking at public statements.

We learned what we needed, that /christian/ is moderated (at least in part) by insolent, spiteful young Roman Catholics. They're caught up in a system where they're constantly trying to out-"trad" one another in their bubbles on Twitter, discord and the board, to where they're never really challenged.

This in group preference is exactly like that of leftists, who don't consider dissenting voices to be worthy of consideration. They censor the board based on their views, and arbitrarily at that.

I know some of you guys are cross posting there, this should be a wake up call. It is not an even playing field.

Agreed, I just think it's a sad state to be in.

/christian/ had been on a slow decline for some time. Ironically enough, had it not been for that board, I'd have never come into contact with the stronger arguments from Protestants, despite the very heavy Papist bias.

>They censor the board based on their views, and arbitrarily at that.

Considering they left the scriptures in Latin and forbade the laity to read them starting in the 13th century, they're only following in their predecessors footsteps. Rome has prided itself on keeping people ignorant for generations.

>I know some of you guys are cross posting there

Qualifications for Overseers and Deacons

Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?) He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap.

Like I said >>8520 here, I used to be a trad cat.

Mostly it seems to be an online phenomenon, because I've never met any in person.

It's easier to act proud and arrogant online than in person, since you're dealing with a physical human being rather than text and words.

In addition, trads assume that all of church history is theirs, so any Protestant is just a silly dumb backwoods heretic who needs to become a Papist.

But, even trads disagree among themselves. More radical trads will go the sedevacantist (that the last few popes weren't actually popes and Vatican II was a false council) route or other ridiculous positions (conclavism, sediprivationism, etc.).

The last time I checked, the board was for all Nicene Christians, not just Caths. So why am I getting perma banned for counter-signalling specifically Rome's Marian dogmas? At this point they should just ban everyone who is not in communion with Rome and rename the board /Catholic/ to get rid of the ambiguity. Ridiculous

Forced redistribution of wealth is not what Christ advocated for. Infact I'd argue that welfare is more sinful than good because it's now robing the opportunity to be charitable. You're replacing good values with forcible taxation which causes people to resent people on welfare more than they would a person relying on charity.

Communism is simply not compatible with Christian ethics and you're not fooling anyone.
