I'm tired of this planet and I want Him to take me home.

Does anyone else just feel tired? I look at how the world deteriorates, as expected of course, and I just want to be with Christ.

It’s been worse many times in the past and we’re honesty just as likely to be waiting another 2k years.

Everybody wants the rapture to come when they’re alive so they don’t have to die wondering if it was all a sham.

Imagine wanting and looking forward to the rapture and being left behind.

I unironically agree with you. I've been low-key wishing for the world to end and rapture to come for a few years now. I have had this gnawing though on the back of my mind: Is wishing for rapture as an end of the world or as an end of men sinful or heretical? After all, God created man in his image, and the world was created by Him as well, and nothing that is made by God can inherently be evil. I've been meaning to ask my pastor about this for some time… What's your all take on this?

>Is wishing for rapture as an end of the world or as an end of men sinful or heretical?

If it is kept within the will of God then no. As Jesus said, not what I will, but what thou will.

Remember also that the Lord God is longsuffering, giving people as He will time to hear the gospel in this life before the end comes, and He is wise, in knowing the right time for things.

Just so were on the same page, what kind of a rapture are we talking about?

I know, there are three kinds, apparently. Pre-tribulation, during tribulation, and post tribulation.

Steve confirmed for Smash. This may be one of the signs of the apocalypse. I can't tell.

No one disputes the Biblical passage where the faithful are reunited with Jesus in heaven, it's just a matter of how this passage was fleshed out to mean bodies rising up in the air and all and cars in mid motion being driverless etc.

I feel disillusioned with everyone around me. I was not taught the faith as a kid, and grew to despise God. I even became….a fascist…because of it. I was raised knowing SO…VERY…LITTLE about Him. He led me home, but as I look at all the people here, I realize how…IGNORANT I am. I feel let down by the people I trusted, they taught me politics, instead of god. All through my spiritually journey, other than bringing me to Church and getting me books, I have had no instruction on the faith from my family.

I used to LOVE reading, I used to read EVERYDAY. Now…I can barely read more than a couple sentences without being overwhelmed. I want to read the bible, but I can't… it is too hard. My family let my soul rot while I gave into self lust. HOW COULD THEY LET ME ROT IN SIN? EVERYTHING I looked up to as a kid…has failed me The people I looked to to teach me the truth…failed. I don't know what I am going to do. I don't know what I stand for anymore. Each day…I struggle with misanthropy…as I fear the corruption of my fellow man. I just wish someone would understand. But I am alone…I wish God would strike me rather than let me commit more sin. The more I sin, the more it pains me. And I have been cycling from happy to sad over and over and over again. I want my brother to hug me when i am upset. I feel lost

I wonder sometimes if the rapture means those who are without mortal sin, and living at Ground Zero at the start of a nuclear war.

What'd the difference between the raputre, the rising of the dead, the last judgement, and the end of the world?

It's not too late. I wasn't raised Roman Catholic - I lived a life of Church-shopping, changing my beliefs all the time as I grew up. What you're feeling is natural since you lack a lot of the "nurture" aspect that comes with your newfound faith. Instead of having to come to your family for knowledge, you have to take the long journey to find wisdom all by yourself, which can be very daunting. It's weird living with a mixed-religious family, I can only imagine what it's like being religious in a secular household. If you're Catholic and you are sinning and you know it is painful and don't want to do it - you can always go to confession. Confessing your sins to God will make you anew and bring you out of your state of mortal sin. As for your Bible reading, yes, it is hard and it is hard alone. If you can find a study group at your church or online than that is great. If you prefer to read alone (lectio divina) than give yourself just 15 minutes. Start there, and if you feel you can read more than that's great. Don't give up anon, stay in prayer, and keep your eyes on what God has in store for you!

Thank you, anon, and God Bless. I just wish to be with Him. He saved me when i was wallowing in the filth of my sins. I want to be pleasing to Him.

Suffering on Earth is a good thing.

Why?

Because God is just and we will be punished for our sins either on Earth or in purgatory. Better to pay for your sins on Earth than in purgatory where punishment it will be much worse and much longer.

According to the Catholic prophecies we are still quite a way off from the rapture, but the good news is we are very close to the millennium the bible spoke of in revelations - a time of peace and return to the faith that precedes the rapture, just unfortunately there's going to be lots and lots of blood shed before we get there
