Hey /christian/, I'm not christian and I really don't mean this thread to be offensive, but I've always wondered why in the gospels Satan didn't tempt Jesus sexually. It really makes little sense to me, and would've added such a richer literary element to the temptation on the mount. It just seems like such a jarring oversight on the part of Satan.
I've always thought that Satan should've tempted Jesus with women. The temptation of food, women and power would fully encapsulate basically the entire realm of temptation. Sexual temptation is definitely one temptation men are very susceptible to, and I would've thought Satan would lay that temptation out to a seemingly human individual.
John Milton, in Paradise Regained, a poem about the temptation of christ, couldn't resist including the possibility of sexual temptation. He of course, being a pious christian, had enough respect for the source material to not bastardize it. But he brought up the possibility of it in a conversation between Beliel and Satan.

Because that's offensive to us breeding stock who aren't meant to become priests. The gnostics tried to demonize sexual desire in general and they died out because guess what winnie the pooh, actions have consequences. Demonizing sinful lust and anything but monogamous marriage is healthy for a society, but once you start telling humans their natural animal desire to reproduce is wrong then you've winnie the poohed up and secured your extinction. That's why I think the succubus meme is dumb. Why would a demon desire to engage in a reproductive act? It's just a sinful ghost in purgatory following the same human programming that led to their conception and birth in the first place.

probably wouldn't have been too effective with god in the flesh. The interesting thing about the temptations isn't that he didn't offer anything to Christ personally
the first temptation was to turn stones into bread, which seems simple and harmless and it would be Jesus doing it, not Satan. It was to prove he really was the son of God.
Same with the last temptation - to jump, to prove he really was the son of God. Both were tests of faith.
The middle test - offering him the kingdoms of the world wouldn't really be to Christ's benefit either, he was already God. But it would unseat Satan as the current ruler of the world. Check the wording
> “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. If you worship me, it will all be yours.”
The world would obviously be better with Christ rather than Satan as it's ruler. However the cost would be worshiping Satan

If you are hungry and thirsty hormonal urges are the least of your concerns.
Anyway the temptation of being the ruler over the material kingdoms already encompasses women. We can see that from Solomon with his hundreds of wives.

Sexual temptation is not that great. You have to eat. Jesus, being God would be tempted by power. But many men are celibate voluntarily, even without Christianity being the reason and its obvious Jesus was one who had the gift of singleness. It just wouldn't be a strong temptation for him.

No, but you're a fukking moron if you think eternal spirits that were made to never reproduce have sexual urges.

That's exactly the reply that John Milton used in Paradise Lost. Satan said to Beliel that too many men have shunned sexual activity voluntarily with ease, and that intelligent and temperate men see woman's sexual being as being a mere "toy or trinket". Of course there's a level of contemptuous misogyny with the reply, which is fitting for Satan imo.

You're just posting more social shaming bs because that's all you liars have. Meanwhile I have Truth on my side. The Catholic Church teaching was always that "ghosts" are just people in purgatory undergoing purification.

Even a quick google search says you are wrong.
The opinions of catholic theologians have been "it's demonic and/or God let them leave their post-death residence(be it Heaven, Hell, or Purgatory) a bit to appear to humans, for whatever reason God sees fit"

No, a quick search should say any Catholic Saint who does believe in ghosts believes they're souls from purgatory petitioning the living for prayers. If jewgle doesn't say that then jewgle is wrong.
