Hey /christian/!

It's actually my first post in there, and I wanted to ask you a question.

Have anyone of you ever lost faith in God? How did you find it again? Did you ever find it again?

I've been through some winnie the poohed up shit, and I've been a believer, for I asked God when I was young to give me signs, and he didn't disappoint. He gave me the signs I was asking.

Sadly, I've been through a rebel phase, where I even decided to go against Him, like satanism and stuff.

Now well my life is pretty miserable in some aspects, and i'm trying to find Him again and I struggle. Any help?

I never actually doubted God, however sometimes i still have some irrational anxiety. I have no rational reason to doubt him tho. I actually fear i have demonic obsession

I came back to the faith not that long ago, was in a similar situation where I departed from God's way for years and was struggling spiritually, mentally and emotionally. All I can say is pray the Holy Rosary and continue to pray as much as you can, ask for guidance and the Lord will provide. Reading Scripture and the life of Saints can help strengthen your faith too. God bless.

I don't know if I have really a reason to doubt him. I think it's more about believing in him in my case… Thanks for the answer my friend!

I started my prayer journey just today, after reading some texts in the new testament. Hope it will be good for me and people around me. God bless you too my friend!

>Have anyone of you ever lost faith in God?

Yes

> How did you find it again? Did you ever find it again?

Long story short, after leaving the Church I was born into I smoked lots of weed and tried every non-Christian religion under the sun from occultism to protestantism. But I could never fill the God sized hole in my heart. I could never free myself from the shackles of my sin. That is until, on a whim, I decided to pray the rosary after watching a sermon by Fr. Ripperger on spiritual warfare. Literally, no joke, after praying it I felt like I had the will and the power to completely abandon my porn and weed addiction. I never felt happier and since than I have prayed the rosary everyday.

I will always be thankful to the one almighty God for having mercy on me.

I lost faith in my teen years, although I never openly declared atheism I was not a Christian, I regained it because I realized later that I was unreasonably concerned with things beyond my control.

>Have anyone of you ever lost faith in God?

Yeah, I think after middle school I kinda stopped caring about my relationship with Him and I viewed it more like a wishing well where I'd always ask for things and never really expect them to be fulfilled.

>Did you ever find it again?

Yeah

>How did you find it again?

In college, oddly enough. I started to feel a subtle pull towards the faith one summer, like out of nowhere I started thinking "maybe I should read the Bible sometime, I've never actually done that before". Then that led me back to church (I was raised catholic and started going to the catholic ministry on campus), and I got pretty serious with it. That was a little over a year ago now I think. Then last fall I met a wonderful girl, except she's an evangelical protestant (southern Baptist). I had never had any real experience with other types of Christians before, so our relationship got me wondering about what the truth really is. I started reading the Bible more attentively and with more of my heart and soul in it, and at this point I'm pretty much 100% a Bible believing Christian (mostly I'd say I fall under the Baptist umbrella).

>Now well my life is pretty miserable in some aspects, and i'm trying to find Him again and I struggle. Any help?

Read your Bible. It has the answers to all of life's hard questions, and it's one of the best ways we have of hearing what God wants us to do.

Thanks for your answer! I started some days ago and it already did good in my life. I stopped cursing (religious curses in my language is only curse). I stopped talking bad about other people and just stopped judging people in general. So far it's great, I feel more happy than some weeks ago

That's fantastic, I'm really happy for you! Just remember that God loves you even when things look bleak. You might be doing great now, but you're gonna go through hardship in life and those are the most important times to lean on God.
