Many of them are, except in updated versions like the French Civil Code. People are incredibly lazy, so they plagiarize one another's legal systems. Even Sharia jurisdictions have just basically Islamicised Romano-French law, and Socialist legal systems are just moar of the same Napoleonic Code but with no property rights and breadlines.
