The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

I’m a Christian having doubts with my faith, mostly because I’ve forgotten my apologetic arguments a while ago. It’s fairly easy to prove the existence of a God, but proving there’s a God doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the Holy Trinity, when there’s many other monotheistic religions. Can /Christian/ reaffirm my faith in Christ?

If you don't notice God's power in your life, I'm not sure what apologetics will do for you. Fix your heart before you fix your mind.

Does that sound stupid? It just might be.

"The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written:

'I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,

and the learning of the learned I will set aside.'

Where is the wise one? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made the wisdom of the world foolish? For since in the wisdom of God the world did not come to know God through wisdom, it was the will of God through the foolishness of the proclamation to save those who have faith." - 1 Cor 1:18-21

Apologetics are not a foundation of faith. They merely let you compete in the realm of quick debate. Learn theology if you truly want to be grounded.

You're hardly answering OP's question there…

1) Jesus. He existed in history, and the hole He leaves in history fits perfectly with who the Bible says He was.

2) Fulfilled scripture. See all the scripture fulfilled within the Bible from Isaiah 53 to the fall of the second temple, for example.

3) The lives that Christians have lived historically, especially the early ones. Takes an insane amount of commitment and assurance to do what St Patrick or Paul did.

4) the major flaws within other religions that are not present within the Bible given some of the points above. For example, Islam is laughably fake with a cursory reading of the Koran, stating objectively false statements like the Trinity being the Father, the Son, and Mary.

Sure.

1. Christianity (and Judaism/Islam) are the only religions that provide a creation ex nihilo to the universe, in other words, a specific creation even, by a Divine Creator.

2. There is no other religion that has this understanding, it is either eternal Being, or eternal creation, technically, there is no divine almighty or a Creator outside of Creation in non-Abrahamic religions.

>when there’s many other monotheistic religions

There isn't, and if there are, they are pseudo-Christian (islam).

When it comes down to it, something cannot come from nothing. If there was nothing, then something cannot come out of it.

Christianity is not contrary to reason, the scholastics showed this but mundane reason alone is not absolutely true only God is so if you want THE TRUTH you want to know God, since reason alone does not constitue God and that Christianity is not contrary to reason we resort to revealed theology which is above pure reason and teaches us how to know God as signposts on the way to Truth.

To have more than a moral certitude that christianity is true requires either profound miraculous spiritual intervention or purity of heart through the acquisition of the Holy Spirit (grace) which culminates into gnosis which is empirical, reserved for a spiritual elite ie: saints, mystics, elders etc, whereas most are content with being saved by faith rather than through faith.

>Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

The Heart is the seat of the intellect

To know God is to love God, to know God is the beginning of wisdom. Faith like love is active, how can you Love without acts, how can you have faith without acts? Faith without works is dead, not faith because of works. We are given a certain amount of faith but we grow in faith by listening to God and going through situations. We are weak and cannot do anything without Jesus, how can we build faith or confidence without seeing God work? Salvation is NOT of ourselves but God moving us by His spirit to come to know Him. How without Him and knowing Him can faith stay alive? Go back to your first love and find Him and rejoice in that discovery, He never left you, you never searched with all your heart, mind and spirit. You never came and sat down and dined with Him, who calls you. Your life depends not on words but the WORD/HIM. The word was God and with God.
