Proof of Biblical Exodus?

THERE may now be definitive proof of the Biblical Exodus after a radiocarbon dating breakthrough, it has been reported.

http://archive.today/2019.01.28-145428/https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/weird-news/756024/bible-proof-exodus-moses-parting-red-sea-israelites-egypt

The epic story is told through the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Number, and Deuteronomy and tells the story of Moses liberating the Israelites from the Pharoah’s slavery in Egypt. Biblical legend tells of how he led them through the wilderness, before crossing the River Jordan into the promised land of Canaan. However, proof of the epic migration has always eluded archaeologists who are keen to prove some of the more incredible aspects of the Bible. But a study carried out by the University of Arizona using high-res, radiocarbon dating may provide proof of the Exodus.

Experts now say the Thera volcanic eruption on the island of Santorini – which archeologists believe happened in the 16th Century BC – actually took place around a century earlier. This was established after carbon testing on an olive branch found buried beneath a lava flow, according to Breaking News Israel. This means the eruption coincides with when Biblical scholars believe the Exodus occurred. This would confirm world-famous Egyptologist Hans Goedicke’s theory that number of events in Exodus can be explained by the massive Thera eruption. The scholar, who died in 2015, claimed the parting of the Red Sea and it subsequently crashing down on the Egyptian Army could have been a tsunami caused by Thera. His theories were later supported by geologist Barbara J. Sivertsen.

That lines up with Simcha Jacobovich's documentary. You all should watch it. It's not as good as Patterns of Evidence, and his a unbelieving Jew.. but he does make some interesting correlations to the effects of Santorini. His timelines are also a mess.. but it's worth gleaning some stuff from.

Actually I'm gonna put his documentary here. Whoever made this edited it halfway through with some "Ron Wood discoveries" (heh), I think, but the bulk of the documentary seems to be here. This guy is not your friend as far as using any Christian friendly sourcing goes, but I don't think he says anything too heretical in this particular movie.

Ah, it's Ron "Wyatt" (I said "Wood" above). I've heard some negative things about his discoveries though.

>"The righteous shall live by faith"

<"So you mean we need to seek scientific proof of the divine revelations?"

Besides, Exodus says that it was wind that split the sea in half.

This is true. To me, it's just a fun pasttime to learn about the world of the Bible. It's better than most other pasttimes at least.

>Besides, Exodus says that it was wind that split the sea in half.

This is also a good point though. Thanks for pointing it out.

>All Faith is blind faith

Look I don't mind if you have Blind Faith, but pushing it as the standard is unbiblical.

Well, we should believe it no matter.. but at the same time, this wasn't even an issue of faith once. It simply was accepted, as far as the when and where. You see Elijah the Prophet later hole himself up on Mt Sinai, as he prayed and retreated from the people. The location was still fresh in the minds of people that he knew where to go. And to me, it seems to make the Sinai in Arabia theory seem stranger.. that's OVER a thousand miles, full of obstacles, away from Israel. I suppose if Elijah was determined enough, he'd make that trek.. but then I wonder why Israelites were generally secluded in their history. You don't see them making 1000+ treks in any direction for awhile. There's no stories of them traisping about the world this far. Usually the other parts of the world came to them instead (with fully supplied armies).

I'm not here to push the traditional location necessarily, but when I see evangelicals push the Saudi location "because the one in Egypt doesn't feel special" (like the guys in that doc say, I think), I think that's pretty stupid. Their feelings don't matter. I also think they usually create conspiracies about anything from the past (Sinai was discovered by St. Helena.. Constantine's mother). Lots of bogeyman talk once you get Byzantines or Romans involved.

Cool, but as others have said, reason can only be held in light of faith, not faith in light of reason. God desires our love, not our intellectual conviction.

John 20:29

>Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Hebrews 11:1-3

>Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.

>By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

Blind faith is Christian faith.

Faith is not blind the moment God himdelf backs it up with miracles and many signs like the ressurrection

Also I will add that things are not randomly considered as providence. There is always a source and reasons to consider it providencr, which make the faith non-blind

Yes, and? I wouldn't mind if normal faith could only take me as high as Thomas, Thomas was a great apostle.

>Blind faith is Christian faith.

And so is normal Faith, it seems.

Either way, I see no reason not to pursue proof of the Biblical parting of the Sea.
