But I don't know how to forgive, anon. It's so hard. I still get salty about little shit years and years in the past. I can't forgive others, and I especially cannot forgive myself. I try. I want to forgive. But I don't know how. Other Christians make it sound like forgiveness just happens at the snap of your fingers, but it certainly doesn't work like that for me.

It's like debt relief. You let it go, you stop thinking that that person owe you something. It's not letting injustice be, it's just removing that from your head, so you can think about something positive. It's hard, but it's worth it. Think about your bad deeds and that God forgave you. If God would not forgive you and still remembered all in detail, it would be awful, right? So forgiveness is good.
