Newer Catholic going through RCIA here, was in the same boat for years. Gay/bi furry atheist etc for all of my teen years. For me, it was the false lie of comfort that that sin gave me, and it was hard to kick but I did it eventually over a course of 3 years of failure and loss of spirit and regaining that. Persevere, it can be done.

Are you addicted to pornography? And yes, it is a very serious addiction. Sin compounds your desire to continue in sin, and pushes you to rationalize going further away from God in your life.

You're curious enough to post here, but I don't know enough about where you are in faith (if at all). I implore you to have hope and continue to seek out God. Never forget he loves you always, and beacons for you to return to Him.

Ignorance is bliss is a media lie. Don't feel guilty in wanting to know God. You are doing yourself a disservice in not satisfying your own hunger for righteousness. I am not asking you to leave those whom you know, but do not let them tempt you to continue in sin. If you can find a congregation, the social aspect will be filled. If you fear for those you know now, come back to them with the good news. I'm doing that myself… It's not easy but doable.

Delete it, and see how long you can go without it if you don't think you're an addict. It messes significantly with your dopamine levels, and as such it becomes very habitually appealing to long for if you try to stop. The best way to stop is cold turkey. I think as you stop consuming it, a lot of these gay feelings will fade (they certainly did for me) as you stop seeing the orgasm as the end goal of sex and stop projecting the enjoyment of a woman onto expectations for yourself.

Unfortunately I'm not the best apologist, but there are a great number of ones to help with this.

However, I'll try my best: For me it was understanding the public nature of everything Jesus did. Historians do not doubt the existence of Jesus as a man, as documentation of him from the era far exceeds any other documentation we have from any history of that age. So, if he existed, he was either a madman in his claims, a charlatan, or he spoke the truth. I think his ideology, as profound as it was, is too consistent for him to be a madman. If he were a charlatan, what would have been the gains? He was given many an opportunity to escape the suffering that came with crucifixion, and even prayed that he might not have to if there were another way. Yet, he did as what the Father commanded and while tempted for forgo this event he continued so that we all might be saved. If he is as he claimed, the idea that men might be forgiven if they repent and ask is the most profound idea from which all good in human nature can trace back to.

I grew up Christian, so I can't answer the first question. As for the sex life of married Christians, that probably varies from couple to couple. Mine's terrific, but I don't represent all Christian married couples.

In other sins you sin against others and God. Sexual sins are sins against your own body. Resist it, man. If you never give up to it it's done. Your body won't do it on its own.

What keeps you on this cycle is probably your social circles. Get new stuff to do, browse other boards and stuff. The people you talk to really influence how you are. Groups even more.
