Are you sure? In big cities like Vienna, Salzburg, Graz, Innsbruck and Linz you might be right.
In smaller towns, though, even if they are only a few km away from those cities people won't let their kids play with foreigners' kids, specially Eastern European kids. I've known people who were treated that way and they felt like shit. One time I talked with an Arab immigrant while he was heating the meat for a kebab and he said that people in his neighborhood weren't very nice to him too.
Also it happened to me more than once to be treated like I was stupid just because my German was very weak in my first year. Even in the cities. They were either condescending or they made fun of me at my back. Tip: people who are learning a language usually understand a lot more than they are able to speak.
Oh, and waiters that took longer to come to the "Ausländer" table was a common occurrence, particularly in "that beer place" in the Prater (I won't name it). I'm a shy and awkward beta, so of course nothing happened, but if I were a guy who didn't mind confrontations I would've made a scandal a time or two. On the other hand there were places like Salm Bräu were the staff was so incredibly nice and cool, I'd pay myself a trip to Vienna just go go there once more. That beer was fucking awesome.

Unfortunately your statistics seem to cover only from 1984 to the present, and there's roughly 4000 Franz, which leaves them in the 66th position (including females as well). It's not that uncommon, though, and I'm guessing it's more common for older people, but I don't find any statistic from before that year.

No. Falco is mildly known by boomers, and kids never heard of them.
People in sport don't matter unless they are elite football (soccer) players, F1 multiple champions (and I'm not even sure about the present, no one seems to care about either Hamilton or Vettel outside F1 regulars) or NBA players. You might have great athletes in winter sports but that's not something a lot of people care about.
