I was reading Germanic Spirituality (I think that's the title) by Bil Linzie.

In it he talks about how Asatru was invaded by tons of ideas from Wicca/New Age and how that has skewed the direction of the worldview and essentially codified the wrong direction.

So, with that in mind, what readings (books or blogs/articles) would you recommend to newcomers if you want them to understand the worldview FIRST and only as a small aside understand the rituals/magic shit.

For example, the order that I might explain concepts to a newcomer:

1. How society is structured (family first, no such thing as rugged individualism)

2. Wights / Elves / etc. (How these things are more relevant to the regular people in every day life)

3. Afterlife (Family cemetery, normal death, etc.)

4. Creation story (related to afterlife)

5. Honor / Worth

6. Fame

7. Luck

8. Gods / Goddesses (and how these relations are primarily between God <-> Group of people)

9. Main festivals of the year (list the 2 biggest ones, explain how the year was typically divided, no wiccatru shit)

i.e. - explain things that are directly applicable to the person in everyday life FIRST

From my beginner perspective, it does seem like the Anglo Heathens have a better grasp on things than the Asatru organizations.

Anyway, book OR blog post recs and order if there is a preferred order.

Fuck the puritains.

Occult Roots of Nazism by Goodrick-Clarke is full of Armanist theory.

Learn some Astrology and Numerology.

Qabalah is sweet too.

Theosophy combines a lot of great Indo-European religious concepts together.

Germanic Occultism has so many great brothers.

Learn the Hammer Rite, bitch.

Norse Myth by Crossley-Holland is good for memorizing myths.

Nordic runes is good for memorizing the runes.

Fuck the Anglo Saxon myths, they're all christain garbage.

Joseph Campbell

Carl Jung

Blavatsky

Goodrick-Clarke

Serrano

Devi

Guido Von List

Stephen Flowers

But really, memorize the myths, memoriZE the runes. Talk to the Gods.

Listen to Mystery Babylon by William Cooper.

Cheers, brother.

From the 8chan PDF collection folder, go to Beginners Start Here, click the Germanic folder, and voilà.

Interesting perspective. Maybe I am being too puritanical about it… The problem is that nobody wants to waste their time on something that is essentially made-up hog wash (like runic divination, etc.)

I have checked it out thoroughly. It's great! But it provides little guidance. Same with the pdf recommendation infographics.

I'd like something a bit more… opinionated, if that makes sense.

For a beginner I would recommend—

Asatru: A Nature European Spirituality (by Mcnallen)

Germania - by Tactus (this isnt even really a book, its like a few pages of writings by the Roman Historian Tactus. Its basically a overview of the STRICTLY German Tribes circa B.C times. It lacks in detail in a lot of areas, and most of our present day sociological knowledge of "the barbarians" is based off of it. But it does have some merit)

Saxo Gramaticus: History of the Danes - Davidson

The PDF section here on /asatru/

The AFA has a lot of "overview" types of writings on their page that will give you a better grasp on Asatru.

ALSO! Northern Runes Radio (youtube them) has a VAST archive, and hour long videos about Each Rune/God/Goddess/fundemental things someone new to Asatru would need.

I have never read any of Steven Flowers shit. He seems like more of the Esoteric side of things.
