People pine for the return of Mima and Yuuka (again) but what happened to Yumemi and her crew? I'd be much more interested to see what they're doing on this side of reality. What I wouldn't give to read a doujin where Sumireko discovers their clandestine plot to open a portal to Gensokyo or something like that.

The wiki suggests that Yumemi (a full-fledged university professor at the fair age of 18) and co. do not come from the same 'Outside World' as Sumireko, Renko, and Merry.
I briefly just thought it would be interesting that the PC98 Gensokyo was the slightly more "wild" Gensokyo Merry dreamed off prior to becoming Yukari and "re-dreaming" it (Introduction of Spellcard Rules in the first Window Game), but that sadly makes no sense as Merry is all but confirmed to have also met Sakuya in her dreams.
