That would be one hell of a list. And heavily dependent on where you live. For example, i would not reccomend buying budget jap in Euroland. While budget jap would be the go-to thing in United Burger States.

You'd probably just start small, there's no need to aim for a chart as huge as the old one from half/o/. If you hold back from going enthusiast-level of detail, it could probably be shrunk down with ease.

It was the last real Civic though. After that begun the unfortunate yet inevitable transformation of the car from a dependable, affordable, straightforward hatchback to a bloated, big budget caricature of its former self. Whether it was the compact with the all-glass grill and triangular exhausts or the baby Integra the US Civic morphed into neither car accurately represented the legacy it had built up over the course of 3 decades.

Also the EP Type-R was a literal rice rocket that can still murder most vehicles on the road produced today, the only reason it got caught in vid related was because the cops were able to hear the sound of the exhaust from enough of a distance to track it down.

>SUVs are really cars for retards

*were - the world moved on to crossovers quite a while ago. Nowadays it's a car solely for poor hood niggers due to the oldest Escalades turning 20 next year. "Pimpers" got rid of theirs a long time ago once they realized the meme was stale and returned to ruining malaise-era coupes, except slamming them on ridiculous suspensions and calling them donks this time around.

W8, please explain yourself. So you are implying that not all crossovers are SUVs?

All crossovers are SUVs, but not all SUVs are crossovers, some are actual offroaders.

Also that new Caddy Escalade is just a hueg universal. Look at those proportions. The proportions of a fucking 1st gen VW Passat. They just multiplied every size by 2.

Not him but you're messing up the words here.

Crossovers are cars that are made to look like all terrain cars.

SUVs are, like they imply, fast, large and capable in off-road.

So no, cars can't be both SUV and crossovers. Crossover was a word used by Renault to call its small and SUVesque cars, that aren't sporty nor utilitarian, they just have the looks of an SUV. Now car dealers call all crossovers SUVs, which is completely misleading.

See the pic related. This is the size of a small hatchback and has a 1.0l 80hp engine. Don't call that a SUV.

Pickup market in Europe is different than in US. In US, it is just accepted that you can and will buy a truck designed for hard work and hauling stuff for daily groceries.

Is Europe, i have to go over and beyond to get anything designed for work, and even further to get something that is comfy as well.

Renault a shit. Amarok is expensive. There is very little market for japanese imports in Baltics, let alone cheap used japanese pickup trucks. VW LT series revive when. Fucking great vehicles.

Even with no snow, low temperatures will fuck up summer tires due to the materials they're made of. Same reason you don't use winter tires in summer.

Sure tread depth is different but component materials matter quite a lot.

Dirt tires are expensive and terrible on asphalt. My routine is 50/50 dirt/asphalt roads, so winter tires are pretty good all-rounders.

Yes, they are way less "unslidy" on warm asphalt than summer tyres, but that is rare anyway.

Except that summer temperatures are too hot for the winter tire's rubber compound, and that dirt roads are a lot more abrasive than snow, dirt is even abrasive on dirt tires.

You'd be better served by a mild all terrain tire, some are even rated for winter service.

For a '16 GS350 F-sport: $350 from an independent guy to reprogram one key and reset the ecu to accept the key. Mobile deal, done roadside. Easy peasy, but you have to buy additional keys for $110 a piece and have him program those too for a nominal fee.

Lexus dealer's deal is this: if you have a spare, they'll charge you $125 to copy the spare–this is no big deal.

If you don't have a spare, they fuck you hard. Vehicle is flatbeded in, they replace the entire fucking ecu for $2k. It's special order, I was quoted 2 days + labor time.

You're given 2 keys with new purchase. Don't fucking lose them.

It's not that bad. Whining belts, on the other hand… the sound of 50 tortured cats in a empty metal thrashcan is hardly comparable.

I saw one parked in the street today and it's pretty good looking & wide af. Too wide for the parking spot, though, so I doubt it's very practical as a Euro daily.

I don't get it, /o/. Two out of every three muscle car drivers I see are women. This makes no sense on multiple levels:

>Women don't typically find enjoyment in driving the same way men do and would have less reason to drive a high-performance car

>Women don't typically have the high-paying jobs required to afford cars like that

>Fun cars are the first things that married women make their husbands give up, so a male owner is unlikely

I don't understand it. How/why are there so many?

How long until the big push to make car culture a "safe space for women"?

Does it truly deserve the title of "Worst Car in History All Things Considered"? I think Jeremy Clarkson for the most part is a scam and Top Gear is a show you watch for entertainment, not for its car reviews. But with that said, what is your experience with this car? Is the handling really as terrible as some make it to be?

A thread to share experiences of cars you really should've walked away from.

Pic related is an EJ Civic I snatched up for 2000 dollarydoos. Pictures in the ad were real shitty, so all I could see was clean paint and a straight body. Texted the owner and he was very responsive and upfront with answers to my questions. He told me a few things were wrong with it of his own volition, leading me to believe he was being upfront and honest about everything, and it all seemed like shit I was comfortable fixing including bringing it back to stock ride height but come to find out there were a few rather glaring omissions.

>Clean paint was actually a half assed respray with cheap paint, now full of chips and scratches

>Busted turn signal stalk

>That nigger tier hyperflash mod, also making the front turn signals too dim to be seen when the parking lights are on

>Also nigger tier "rally style" rearview mirror, with no nighttime dimming; removed sun visors to install it

>Also also nigger tier fake carbon fiber fog lights, not hooked up

>Power steering pump and reservoir removed, lines looped

>Ad said manual trans; while technically true, it was an auto from the factory, and the owner before him who did the swap neglected to hook up the clutch starter interlock as well as the fucking reverse lights

>Misaligned starter; grinds when the solenoid disengages

>Driver's window sticks at halfway point

>SRS light lit

And the worst part is that after I found all that out, I still bought it. Thankfully I at least had the presence of mind to talk him down from 2500, but I really really should've walked on it.

Usually when a head gasket fails it also warps the head or some other catastrophic damage that needs some serious machining to fix. That being said, cheap LS motors from trucks are a dime a dozen at the local junkyard.

You bought a good looking, reliable car.I replaced all of the top end gaskets on my 2000 bird when I bought it. The engine is not nearly as difficult as it seems to work on. There are some retarded brackets that bolt to the back of the heads, that's about the worst part of it. Please be sure it actually needs head gaskets, if it is blowing white exhaust smoke it probably just needs the intake manifold gasket replaced(extremely common issue in this engine, replace this gasket with an aluminized non plastic version). Do a compression test to be sure. If it does need headgaskets, god help you with those exhaust manifolds. Assuming you bought the 5 speed, enjoy your 300k+ mile car once you do that.

Thanks for the reassurance anon. Did you need to take out the entire motor from the bottom to do that or did you just work on the car from the top? I find it almost impossible to get my hands in there and I'm a pretty skinny motherfucker. In addition, after the winter I intend to perform a compression test to diagnose exactly what you said. Should I remove the boots from the bottom because it is realllly tough to get them off from the coilpack and the sparkplug.
