I tried to find the areas that mattered or were related to specifically what we talked about.

>It postulates that all religion is descended from universal truth, corrupted at the surface level by puny mundane minds. The kernal of truth is still present in all.

That I agree with, but it makes me sad and makes me consider it as untruth because of how corrupted and obfuscated that small piece of truth is. religion demands that you believe but never allows you to Know

>That's literally what the book says lol

I guess I didn't see that part. I found the way it was written to be very roundabout. I didn't want to complain since you were nice enough to help me find it so I could read it. I wonder why, like the bible, and many other written words of special knowledge are almost always written in a very uncomfortable to read way, almost always guaranteed throughout history. Do you also notice this?

>I'm starting to suspect your judgements are based on skimming the wikipedia pages for 'syncretism' and Esoteric Christianity.

Your mention of these things are my first ever time hearing of them. I slowly put my ideas together from little pieces of things I noticed and what others noticed. Slowly more and more things connected in ways that were undeniably not a coincidence, and then my belief in coincidence was eventually shattered.

Using the word Syncretism to describe Perennial Philosophies is like calling a government a regime. It's a meaningless fluff word used by butthurt people, and no one really knows what's up their ass

>>134058

>These are both wrong. There is no attempt to combine the religions. There is evidence that this has ALREADY been done, or that they all have a common origin. This is what I have noticed.

I would agree with your sentiment but not with your words. There certainly are attempts to combine the religions, or at least that would be an apt description of someone trying to uncover what may have been previous attempts to combine the religions… And those original attempts were surely influenced by how the scriptures of the different religions all claim to be part of one universal theology…

Could be that there's just a rhetoric problem here

>>134065

The Anon provided an alternative explanation and you disregarded it. You don't sound like someone that actually wants dialogue. But at the same time you say this

>It postulates that all religion is descended from universal truth, corrupted at the surface level by puny mundane minds. The kernal of truth is still present in all.

I think you are just a bible thumper. There is a universal philosophy, but the bible says it best? fuck outta here.

>>134069

>and many other written words of special knowledge are almost always written in a very uncomfortable to read way

Have you ever read any scripture in their original langues with full understanding of the language, and better yet an understanding of the language as it was used at the time it was written?

Or have you just been reading trash translations corrupted with the opinions of the translator? Most commonly it just gets convoluted to death with ambiguity

>>134070

Well, I wasn't raised Christian and I still got a lot out of it. Never really cared about religion at all until I got into /fringe/ shit. I think the ease of understanding is due partly to the focus on things westerners are familiar with instead of throwing a bunch of indian and tibetan ooga booga words at you at once (like the theosphists usually do constantly). I can't vouch for it being the easiest Theosophy book of all time but it was for me, out of the ones I've read. As for if it's satanic, I really can't say. That type of designation seems very arbitrary to me.

My message will be brief, just sharing some thoughts. The fear element of Goetia is very important to magick, and for religion, gods are feared and then loved, like emperors. Listen to me, fear creates unconscious beliefs, beliefs that are after reinforced by your conscience. Like when an atheist who decides to challenge a faith by doing something he shouldn't do, he will be a little scared and will start noticing syncronicities, the shadows at night, the noises, etc… Demons are a good way to induce organic desires into the unconscious, then the will shall triumph.

Well the way I see it is you gotta know the 7 principles. The Kybalion is generally accepted as the best introduction, and it does explain the principles quite well.

It doesn't quite make any elaborate connection between specific religions, but the ideas of the principles are straightforward enough that I think connections can be made by the individual themselves.

I think the other main focus is historicity and precedent. These ideas come originally from the Emerald Tablets, and it's from a time in Egypt that the exploration of theologies flourished and there was great interest in universal ideas, perhaps originating from the Greeks attempts in philosophy

You have a point though. Fear is an interesting tool that can be used as a stepping tool to get shit down, and I would never recommend it but it's one tool that is perhaps more effective in ignorance.

Here is what I will say though.

Although it is best to fear God and live piously, it is even better to fear what God fears and become ever more Godlike

You took my post too literally. Earlier versions of the image were full of stale /pol/isms and insistence that the author's vague personal notion of god is superior to "cuck religion." Whether that technically counts as Christianity doesn't matter, it's the same mentality behind a majority of low-grade "conspiracy" literature (mundie reinforcement). He appears to have changed, but I had to mention that what one anon accused me of is exactly what gave me an initial distaste for the image's author.

I for one like the way that Atkinson defines certain concepts in the Kybalion. And I mean not even the stuff about the different levels and sublevels of reality etc.. That stuff takes more imagination. But I really like how he defines things like infinity, and nothing (no-thing), and nothingness (no-thingness or not-thingness). It looks silly typing it all out here but his ideas have a nice fundamental simplicity to me.
