the "new" world order has existed for like 400 years and the people who set it up were just pawns of kali. It's been the kali yuga since then but with the enlightenment of mankind progressing at the rate it is, we should reach a majority-enlightened planet within the next two years. MAJORITY-ENLIGHTENED. We have no fucking CLUE what that's going to do to the fabric of reality but its so strong that the effects trickle backwards in time and form the basis for many world religions. The idea is that the few who become enlightened early on in the yuga either
1. go mad from the realization that they and their next 10 or so generations of descendants will have to live through the soul-grinding of the kali yuga
2. go calm as they internalize the knowledge that they can go no faster than they already are
3. go psycho as they decide to use their new knowledge of the yuga structure to secure fabulous prizes in their human lifetimes while enduring horrible agonies during their non-human lifetimes
the psychos end up making more psychos and being the main grit in the grinding wheel that scores souls deep. Eventually they also powderize and live lifetimes as a consciousness dispersed among an entire slaughterhouse of cattle, or be reborn as a bacteria (AGONY), or a lifetime as a Frenchman.
The yuga ends when enough people are enlightened that a sort of enlightenment-cascade happens as everyone not yet enlightened gets crash-enlightened real fast. You're right in the middle of that and depending largely on your geographical location and social habits you might get enlightened too. If not, the next lifetime will be gentle and you'll have plenty of opportunity.
