Why not just contribute to SCP instead? What caused some users to start this alternative project? I haven't checked the SCP site in a long time, I see now that they have a LGBT flag in their logo, does that have something to do with it?

What a pity. Why do LGBT people have to push their agenda everywhere? Why does something like the SCP have to support gay pride? I really don't get it. I have my own political opinions that I feel strongly about, but I can separate them from other interests that have nothing to do with them. It seems like whenever queers take control of a site or platform, they start banning anyone who doesn't share their ideological beliefs, forcing them to create their own site, which usually ends up becoming explicitly right-wing (equally annoying for me). Even if you were tolerant of gays at first, eventually you end up thinking of them like cancer and try to avoid them like the plague. Anyway… While it's sad to see a 4chan project become corrupted this way, at least there's a competitor and it looks as if there's more than enough interest around it to keep it alive.

In the video's comments there was a proposal for a SCP-SJW, that I think would be a good candidate for an entry in RPC after some small alterations because this thing is truly a fucking mental virus. I'll paste it here:

Item #: SCP-SJW

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: None have yet been found to be effective.

Description: SCP-SJW is a mind virus that

invades the brains of children who have been (a) fed on a diet of soy and

"non-violent cartoons" and (b) continuously told that they are special without

any corresponding evidence to back up said assertion. Upon reaching adulthood,

these infected children often subject themselves to rituals involving scarring

and piercing themselves with metal objects. Their hair will often change into

bright colors, (theorized to be a form of aposematic signal, warning unaffected

people of their dangerous nature.) The individuals affected by SCP-SJW become a

hive-mind, seeking out and exposing patterns of speech and behavior that cause

their amygdalae undue stress. Upon finding these stressful patterns, the

affected individuals (each now going by the moniker "SJW",) emit a high pitched

screeching wail from the back of their throats. The "SJWs" may also engage in

violent behavior like property destruction, and may also attempt to destroy the

human targets of their rage (usually by indirect means, such as calling the

wrath of a local authority down upon them.) SJWs will often invade

institutions, companies, clubs, or activity groups in the hopes of taking them

over and converting their structures into a machine for spreading the SJW

mind-virus. The resources of that institution are then used to power the new

virus spreading machine, in the hopes that new hosts for the mind-virus can be

located and infected. Within a variable but inexorable period of time, the

institutions that have been infected with the SJW virus will begin to fail, as

more of their resources are parasitically directed towards spreading the SJW

mind-virus (and fewer of their resources are used to actually engage in the

activity that the institution was originally created to do.) Uninfected

individuals within the compromised institution (should any remain) will often

jump ship to join a competing, uninfected institution, or begin a new

institution elsewhere. The closer an SJW-run institution gets to failure, the

louder and more energetic the SJWs running it become (in a process called

"doubling-down.") Upon the failure of the institution, the SJWs burst forth

from it, like a horde of larva bursting forth from an insect whose insides it

has devoured, and seek out new institutions, clubs or groups to infect. Humor

and mockery are said to provide some protection against the effects of SCP-SJW

infection, but as of yet, no large scale disinfection methods have proven

effective.

Actually, let me asspull a rough draft.

Item #: RPC-983

Object Class: Gamma

Containment Protocols: None have yet been found to be effective.

Description: RPC-983-1 is a mind virus that infects the brains of its subjects, hereby referred to as RPC-983-2.

Upon being infected by RPC-983-1, instances of RPC-983-2 will steadily isolate themselves from, or become openly hostile towards individuals not affected by RPC-983-1. Instances of RPC-983-2 will consider being infected with RPC-983-1 to be beneficial to their person, and will repeatedly attempt to spread RPC-983-1 to new subjects.

One common method in spreading RPC-983-1 is for instances of RPC-983-2 to "invade" a pre-existing group. This will generally start by instances of RPC-983-2 joining the group and integrating themselves within the community. Upon doing this, they will start to demand that the rest of the group conform to RPC-983-1. If the group removes the afflicted subjects from the community, instances of RPC-983-2 will not manifest for a period of time. Analysis shows that this period can last anywhere between   days and   years. In most cases, some people within the group will become inflicted with RPC-983-1. If this occurs, instances of RPC-983-2 will demand spots in positions of authority within the group. Currently, any group that reaches this point has accepted such requests. Upon this occurring, the instances of RPC-983-2 will either afflict any remaining individuals within the group with RPC-983-1 or forcibly remove anyone that has not been afflicted from the group. Afflicted members will attempt to repeat this process with other groups. If a fully-compromised group has any control over media, they will attempt to afflict new subjects via their media.

The rate at which RPC-983-1 fully manifests varies widely between subjects. The earliest at which it commonly fully manifests is at the age of years, although instances of children age have been recorded. Earlier-age infections have steadily grown more common over the past years. Age of infection also appears to affect rate of manifestation. Subjects between the ages of and appear to have RPC-983-1 manifest the most quickly, ranging between weeks and months. Upon passing that age range, manifestions of RPC-983-1 appear to slow down, and older subjects appear more likely to be completely immune to the virus, although subjects up to the age of have been found to contract it.

Consumption of has been found to accelerate the manifestation of RPC-983-1.

This is about the most apolitical I can make it offhandedly.

The bugchasing phenomena makes me suspect there may actually be a literal brain-altering parasite (be it Toxoplasma Gondii or not) actively rewriting their normal behaviours in order to spread itself at the expense of the host.

Take the parasitic wasp. It lays its eggs inside some hapless caterpillar. After feasting on its blood for some time, the larvae emerge by burrowing directly out through its skin, then spin themselves a cocoon. But it doesn't end there. This caterpillar will never get away, never become a butterfly, for its instincts have been completely wiped and overwritten by the wasp's virus. The mindbroken caterpillar instead expends what little it had left of its life guarding and protecting the lives of the parasites that ate and destroyed it, with no ability to stop itself.

When did we convince ourselves that humans couldn't also have our brains rewritten in a similar way? Is it perhaps simply too horrible to consider? We know that T. gondii successfully overwrites the natural instincts of rats (y'know the animal most commonly used in experimentation due to its physiological similarity to humans), causing them to go cuddle up to cats and get eaten - thus spreading the parasite to new hosts. What exactly do we think is protecting us?

Well, as posted in v, got an idea for a Barometz creature. Plant that produces sheep. Looks normal, but has a fist sized seed in it. Depending on the soil it's grown in and other plant conditions will determine the quality of the sheep, with eating the seed itself giving the victim a bad case of poisoning, and having the plant grow out of them. It's not fancy, but I figured the majority of it would be testing the plant and it's various states itself.

>dreams

Reality is weird enough. Ever have a patch of ground that, soil removed and replaced, simply will not grow grass? Seen black helicopters going towards a place where there isn't supposed to be anything? Caught a glimpse of an animal that just didn't look right?

A kernel of truth can grow a mighty string of pasta.

For example: up North in Maine there is a decommissioned airfield. Supposed to be broken up for civilian use, but some paperwork or funding gap blocks it every few years. Despite its defunded and officially defunct status the locals see military vehicles pass through all the time. Scared me a bit when sitting with a distant relative I hear the deepest truck noises of my life, while the relative wasn't even phased. Seems a convoy was passing by a mile or two away.

Conjecture: Sounds like something the US gov and RPC are in a stalemate over. Say it was being turned over to RPC, but mid way through circumstances changed or escalated in danger. Now an entire air force base is in legal limbo.

Item #: RCP-1344

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: To date no containment method has been successful. MTF Hotel Whiskey (Codenamed; Hotwheelers) have been assigned to watch for instances of RCP-1344 in the wild

Description: RCP-1344 is a disease with anomaly like qualities. Instances of RCP-1344 are hard to detect until victims infected by it reach their teenage years, at which point early signs of RCP-1344 begin to manifest. Signs vary but seem to be consistent in nature (See Addendum SCP-1344-HKE33). RCP-1344 only seems to manifest in humans, attempts to infect animals or plants with RCP1344 have yielded no results (See log-35678H). Tested individuals are capable of all normal motor functions and most cognitive functions. However those severely affected by RCP-1344 are incapable of rational debate and will instead rely on the feelings of the victim. Instances of RCP-1344 (From here-in referred to RCP-1344-1) Also are capable of becoming violent for no discernible reason (See incident log HK4744R). Infected individuals often subject themselves to rituals involving scarring and piercing themselves with metal objects. Part of this ritual sometimes involve dying their hair into bright colors, (theorized to be a form of aposematic signal, warning unaffected people of their dangerous nature like that of jungle dart farts.) The individuals affected by SCP-SJW become a hive-mind, seeking out and exposing patterns of speech and behavior that cause their amygdalae undue stress. Upon finding these stressful patterns, the affected individuals emit a high pitched screeching wail from the back of their throats. RCP-1344-1 may also engage in violent behavior like property destruction, and may also attempt to destroy human targets within their range. RCP-1344 is capable of spreading, however it only seems to be able to infect children and adults with low intelligence. It is unknown how long RCP-1344 has been in existence, nor is it in any known record when it came to the foundation's attention. It is only known that in more recent years, individuals infected with RCP-1344 have increased at a alarming rate. Research at site-[REDACTED] has been ongoing for a cure to instances of RCP-1344-1 that are in late stages of infections.

So, ancient society with ties to established powers from time immemorial. Set up like the =][=? Three divisions, Orders. Orders consisting of:

Xenology

Formerly Astrology and Cryptozoology, anything that seemingly follows physics but defies conventional reason.

'Metaphysicology

Formerly Deviant Natural Philosophy, for aberrant and physics defying objects/locales/persons.

Baramin-Dæmon-Expulsio

Formerly [Redacted], that which deals with hazards memetic, psychological, and things 'beyond the pale of the light of god'. I.e. entities that wholly reside in mind or effect the soul.

From there the orders split between cells and blur jurisdiction.

Seems to me to be BUMP with a touch of Cabin in the Woods, maybe some old fadhioned XCOM. What I've read so far is more willing to involve governmental assistance rather than act as a megacorp above laws.

I'd love to see this make actual use of the anomalous entities that aren't lethal. Like suppose they figured out a step in the metaphysics that made certain objects impervious? Slap that shit on your weapons and armour, your guards are now capable of handling some serious shit if they keep their cool. Or say they figure out the rebounding nature of some enitites that auto repair/fill. Infinite drug dispensers, gold, etc to heal or create funding. That kind of stuff that makes innumerable bunkers around the world possible. Real wizard shit.

Organisations pas and present:

The Tawny Hermetica

A loose collection of alchemists of the medieval to Victorian era that tracked and verified breakthroughs. Indistinguishable from their fellows, their written works are quite readily available. They kept the most important bits as oral tradition which was written down in invisible ink at the turn of the nineteenth century. The bulk of metaphysical literature and experiments are from this society, and many divisions of scientists use the term 'tawny coated' in the same way Nasa uses 'steely eyed missile man' or the Swiss use 'gnome'.

Illuminati

A front name used by at least two dozen major groups over the centuries. At one point spies from both sides of the cold war used it and accidently worked together on the containment of RPC-73. Or supposedly. Of three hundred twenty six reported cases of the name's use, three hundred and twenty were eventually traced to organisations subsumed or neutralized by the Authority. Scrying, mindscraping, and favours from 'kami' level entities have yet to turn up any information regarding these six incidences. Considering they each involved [REDACTED] and inverted [REDACTED] this is concerning and on secondary priority for all personnel.

SCP

A front of the RPC created to obfuscate potential leaks. When memetic containment fails on an RPC it is also one of three designate inoculation points along with mainstream news channel [Redacted] and famous actor [Redacted].

The convention is =][= for near fourty years. It's the closest to the actual sigil.

>>39171

My ideas? I have no ideas of my own. Only passing on things I know. Unbidden knowledge and other slightly unsettling feelings.

Like hey, human psyche has twelve archetypal characters. Sounds like something that has, is, will be in physical existence. If you wanted an overarching plot, have these twelve fight their shadow aspects with poor ass humanity caught between. Sons of Adam, daughters of Eve, cousins to Lilith and Cain's kin. Anima and animus and their shadows. Axis Mundi and its Qlipppoth. So many works these days take it as fact that the outer darkness is not void, but all too welcoming. That shadows cast into it do attact things that are untouched by light. That what we think of it, it in turn has always been and becomes.

In this way the RPC is the Magician archetype. It knows, enough at least, to act. It chooses sword, cup, wand, or coin to deal with problems. Neutralize, contain, conjure, or pay off people to deal with it.

The Mothman Prophecies and Liber Novus; the Red Book back to back were a hell of a ride, I tell you h'wat.

Once it's set it cannot be forcibly moved despite the towns varied attempts involving bulldozers (suffered unexplained mechanical failures) blowtorches (failed to ignite every time) or crowd effort (30 adult men couldn't move a medium sized basket). At nights people experience nightmares and/or dreams related to mankind's inability to fly. Reports say that the exact same balloon appeared in the dreams, even of citizens who haven't seen it before. Nightmares last from to days or until someone with a history of sleepwalking or a curious child enters the basket at night, the next morning RPC-991 vanishes without a trace or anyone in the area remembering its arrival.

As it was recently proven to be a complete fabrication by Kurt Koller, perhaps we could make something that "originated" the rumors, something like this:

Item #: RPC-981

Object Class: Beta

Containment Protocols: Close monitoring of any players, forced extrication after more than 5 2 hours of exposure. Power cord disconnected whenever not being tested.

Description: "Poly-Play" based Arcade machine, cabinet of East-German manufacture but with █████ of no known arcade machine manufactured prior to or since ████. The paint on the glass part of the exterior has worn away over time.

Initially discovered in ███████ City, ██, this machine had already claimed the lives of █ people by the time it was seized on ██/██/199█. As North American audiences were generally unaware of the original Poly-Play title, this item was not considered to be anomalous until a collector, one Mr. ████ ██████, noticed the game did not match the cabinet it was assigned to. Upon isolation, it was discovered that only the ████ of the original machine remained, hence from ██/██ /200█, the machine was henceforth re-christened under the moniker of "Poly-████". Disinformation agents were hired by the Authority to spread untrue rumors and prevent the identity of this machine from becoming widespread knowledge. For example, although said rumors listed the date of manufacture for this machine as ████, this was in fact achieved by turning the three digits of the item into a year.

Upon closer inspection, it was determined that many of the arcade machine's components were of ███████-manufacture, and as such it has been suspected to be used by ██████ as a torture device on the children of ████ and █████ insurgents during the ████ War. As the previous owner of the arcade was discovered to be the descendent of a █████████ survivor who moved to ██████ during the 19██s, this theory has been considered plausible.

Shintoism in Japan has very few parallels in other cultures, save that of the ancient Greeks. Their way of thinking, in terms of purity and impurity, in its rigidity to custom yet allowing for sweeping reform should it come from the right authority, has many historians within the RPC put to wonder if there was some anomalous explanation behind it.

The leading theory is that at some point in the near mythic period of Nippon the early Shinto priests happened upon triggers of memetic control. For lack of a better analogy they found the 'machine code' of thinking, as opposed to language's software. While not the first priesthood to come across this, see Olmec, Egyptian, Sumerian, and [Redacted] civilizations, they were the first to realize its true significance and integrate it into more than medicine-man work or mega-structure construction. Modern self-observing Shinto literature explicitly speaks of what we now deem 'memetic' concepts, and traces these thoughts back centuries if not millennia.

Some evidence of experiments backfirings can be observed in the historical record, especially around the Tokogawa Shogunate era. Mirroring our own mishaps in medieval Europe, hysterical and spontaneous festivity and dancing occured all throughout the country.

All efforts to contact sects knowledgeable have been stonewalled by their Public Security Intelligence Agency bearing previously unseen markings reminiscent of the Chrysanthemum crest. At this time the Authority has deemed information retrieval on these matters low priority, unless the current Japanese culture fascination amongst Western youth proves to have darker undertones than purely culture envy.

I'd like to see this developed more, the idea that they cooperate far more with regional governments. Perhaps they don't have the unlimited coffers of the Foundation, and are forced to make much more efficient and dangerous choices that leave them with more constraints overall. One of the things that made the Foundation a bit boring to me was how overpowered they were, I'd like to see the Authority (while still being powerful) not have the ability to say reset the universe any time things don't go their way. Something a bit more grounded where every containment is a life-or-death struggle and they're often scraping by by a hair's breadth. What if for instance they actually do know how to contain something, but simply don't have enough funding to properly contain it plus their other super-expensive anomalies, forcing them to prioritise the most important anomaly?

One thing I'm hoping very heavily is that the Authority doesn't get taken over by namefags with their stupid self-inserts like the Foundation did. I had a look through one of the Reddit threads about this and Clef openly stated that at the beginning nobody wanted their social justice crap, and that they deliberately worked very hard for years to take the place over. I would propose making author self-inserts and other blatant RP bullshit deletable offences.

I am really liking how most RCP are Alpha/Safe and thus require little containment precautions, compared to SCP, where everything is Gamma/Keter and can destroy the whole world if it's not fed 53 (fifty three) babies (babies) and 102.78 tons of diamond every single day, and if it's not Keter, it is an apparently safe object but with an extremely dangerous gotcha that makes cross testing or attempting decommission impossible, except if it's against SCP-682 "Edgy deviantArt furry OC Mary Sue", in which case they will attempt all possible stupid methods that always go wrong because apparently it's the only stupidly dangerous SCP they ever attempt to decommission. All other Keter SCP with absurdly expensive and strict containment requirements? No, let those be, because nothing could ever go wrong. Just terminate a few more D-class personnel, maybe that will solve things.

In my opinion, RPC objects should be, in their majority (>50%) safe. Being able to easily contain most of their objects more or less add credibility to the Authority as a more or less human organization. The problem the SCP Foundation had that it had way too many Euclid (usually the most expensive ones to contain, given they usually need constant maintainance or sacrifices) and Keter (potentially even more expensive to contain, but usually just impossible to contain, which requires some handwavium to explain why the general populace doesn't notice) to not notice containing all those objects would require such a ridiculous amount of resources that the Earth's entire throughput couldn't provide. Fuck, the whole deal about D-class personnel makes no sense at all, considering they are supposed to be prisoners rescued from the death row, and that a fucking lot of them die during testing or even during the periodic maintainance of potentially easily neutralizable dangerous SCP. To add to the injury, the get terminated at the end of the month. Just how many people do these guys think get executed monthly? If some brave fucker manages to survive consistently after being thrown at a thousand Eldritch horrors, I would want that absolute madman on my side, still as a D-class or even as an agent which is more or less the idea behind the SCP videogame plot, but still the player managed to pull some crazy ass shit in what could be the worst outbreak in the history of that facility. The monthly termination protocol is probably put in there just in case the D-class "learns too much", but fuck, you telling me you can contain world ending cosmic entities in a box, and yet you can't keep your humans in check?

The RPC community should probably use Beta and Gamma classifications more sparingly, or consider turning more useful and predictable RPC into Thaumiel objects after extensive research, maybe even mass produce them if they become Explained, kind of like the X-COM does, just to be able to explain how could the Authority have all that power.

In my opinion, and now that the name includes an R for Research, the Authority should attempt to neutralize all dangerous or hard to contain objects, and then investigate the potential practical applications of all other objects.

I see your point, but I feel that if there is one class that should be more prevalent than the others, it should be beta. Keep in mind that beta doesn't necessarily mean they're super-expensive to maintain, they're just unpredictable and require at least a minimal amount of supervision. And when they do breach containment, it typically isn't THAT catastrophic, at least compared to gamma, but they are a threat. 173 is an excellent example, it's dangerous and unpredictable, but it's containment requirements are relatively simple. Just keep it's containment cell nice and secure, maybe a camera or two for supervision and you're good. Even when it does breach containment, it might kill a few people at worst, and dealing with it and putting it back under lock isn't too hard, as it can't harm you if you keep looking directly at it. Having beta be the most common keeps up a feeling of suspense and horror, that they are keeping dangerous and mysterious things from the public, while not breaking suspension of disbelief, at least not to the extent that several hundred keter objects would.

I concur on that second point, though. There's a lot of safe-class objects in SCP that would be very useful to the foundation that seem to not be used except for the occasional experiment. As for the third point, I'd say they should only attempt to neutralize threats that are an active danger where containment would be extremely difficult, if not impossible.

On the topic of metaphysics and 'invulnerable' and 'self repairing' anomalies:

It has been the assumption of minds past and present, outside of current physics orthodoxy, that the universe is made out of an 'aether'. This has resulted in the modern day polemic models of the 'Electric Universe'. It should be noted that Nikola Tesla and others of the Plus Ultra were firm believers of this sort, and routinely made breakthroughs we now house in facilities that defy standard model laws.

This leads to a conundrum. The current dogma has yet to be disproven, yet makes no room for these obvious discrepancies. This has lead some mathematical philosophers on the payroll to conclude we live in an Electric Universe emulating the Standard Model. This author won't go into the numbers, but suffice to say that it would be akin to an infinitely large and complex brain imagining the universe. The very proposition sent the alchemists into a jubilant tizzy.

This odd juxtaposition of intent and result unfortunately explains the anomalies. They are the brain 'mis-remembering' something. A memory cut out of the simulation, now adrift. Memetic RPC's being something like a hologram, scaling up and down from persons, also explaining how those may survive without a host.

It's just a hypothesis however. Testing will be quite the endeavor.

There is no action that politics is not a part of. Whether it is beckoned or even recognized, all things include a measure of politics. Someone seeing a > will assume right wing. Someone seeing 'toxic' will assume left wing. So on and so forth, the tug o' war will commence. I only hope the RPC's value are upheld better than SCP's were, and the Authority realizes in time how much he risks by attempting neutrality.

Normalniggers do not see their literal faggotry and anti-whitness as politics. For them it's a way of life.

Hence why they say "ban all political shit" while pushing the jewish agenda. For them liftism isn't political, it's normal.

That what you get when you don't cull them bad ones but instead norture them while culling the good ones. That's dysgenics for you. For generations only the bad ones bred in this jewish society and that's why most of the population are fucking dnd lemures.

I've always wanted to make a gas station that becomes supernaturally annoying to work in at night as a thing. But it feels too "ungh I hjate work" to work. Some features:

>The mop literally mind controls or spawns customers to enter halfway through the chore.

>>Said customers need whatever is near the mopped area.

>The coffee maker has a 50/50 chance to fold the filter.

>Items unface themselves, spinning around and sliding to the back very very slowly over the course of a shift.

>The bathrooms literally grow blemishes on the porcelean, debris on the floor, and trash in the bins over time.

>Customers are compelled to visit once every few minutes, and rarely buy anything - the compulsion fades as soon as they enter.

>The store hides IDs as soon as customers enter one in ten times.

And so on, between 8 PM and 4 AM. Just random, incredibly petty, highly inconvenient random events that change constantly. The store doesn't aim to get people fired (money never vanishes from the till, but it might turn into dollar coins, for example) but instead to just be a malaise on the quality of life.

First of all, it's difficult to verify. Could easily be complaints by an annoyed kid on graveyard. You'd need an agent to sit there and moniter the place, watching for weirdness (Like people randomly appearing from thin air around the back of the store, walking in, then vanishing again) and feeling like they're wasting time.

Secondly, it's a commercial space that operates completely normally during daytime hours. Trying to get it contained might run into legal opposition by a significant power (Like Chevron or similar.) or even local gov't.

Finally, maybe the store is sentient and just hates its graveyard workers. maybe it knows, at least vaguely, that its nature being made clear to outsiders might cause it inconvenience of its own and thus act to hide it.

"Inconvenience Store"

Item #: RPC-153

Object Class: Alpha

Containment Protocols: Due to the difficulty of containing RPC-153, as well as its minor effects, it is only necessary to make certain that those exposed to it do not act erratically. Agents are free to make their own judgement calls regarding this. Minor amnestics are recommended, while termination is only necessary in a small subset of cases.

Description: RPC 153 is a phenomenon that occurs between the hours of 2000 and 0500 at 24-hour gas stations with an attatched convenience store. It only affects stores that require a human prescence, automated or otherwise unattended stores do not seem to suffer from effects - though this is very difficult to test. In short, it is a semi-sentient series of events and occurences that make working the effected hours more difficult. For a full list of effects see Addendum 153-01.

RPC 153 was discovered, initially, in central _, by Agent G_*, who is a regular at a convenience store between a place of residence and the RPC facility there. During his commute, he stops there for smokes and, sometimes, a drink or a snack, and inadvertently, got to know the staff there. Over the course of a few months, he reported the staff would complain of various things that seemed normal to the uninformed, but decided to begin a case on instinct. When he reported several observable events, he decided to begin documenting it. It was then that, after a month, the effects slowed, and after two months, seemed to cease entirely. Then Agent R___ began to contribute reports independantly of the same nature, several states away in ___**, RPC-153 was filed as it currently exists.

RPC-153 is assumed to have some sort of malign intellect, or at least a sense of self-preservation: Taken seperately, all of its effects can be seen as delusion or confirmation bias on the part of the clerk of the store, and it moves between stores in an effort to avoid detection, scrutiny, containment, or all of the above. As of yet, efforts to contain the anomaly are considered low-priority for two reasons: One, it is wildly inconvenient, and two, provoking a more lethal response would be counter-productive.

Addendum 153-01 : Effects

The following is a listing of the effects that RPC-153 seems to enjoy inflicting when in effect. Note that RPC-153 seems to invent new methods on a semi-regular basis, so this list is as a result incomplete.

- A slow and steady unfacing of shelved items, by rotating them and sliding them back and away from the front.

- Moving items between shelves and positions over time.

- Folding coffee filters over while coffee is brewing, but not every time.

- Compelling or teleporting people a short distance to enter the store at a steady rate. It should be noted these individuals are only compelled to enter the store, not to buy anything.

- Doing the above, but only when some chores are started.

- Causing minor maintenance issues around the store, then reverting them later after maintenance has been called.

- Replacing dollar bills with equivalent sums of dollar coins, either in the till or in customer pockets.

- Removing identification from customers when they enter the store.

- Breaking the door locks for a few hours at a time.

- Jamming incoming or outgoing internet signal for hours at a time.

- Rendering video footage unviewable for large or small tracts of time.

- Causing the till's internal software to fail during transactions.

- Causing minor maintenance issues in customer vehicles, such as blowing out tires or killing batteries.

- Distorting spoken words into more 'offensive' varieties.

Interviewed: S[] F[], a part time employee of an effected store.

Interviewer: Dr.[]

Foreword: S[] was found by Agent R[] and brought in for more detailed reporting of its activity.

>

Begin Log

Dr.[]: Please tell me about the incident the Agent described.

S[]:I won't be fired, right? It's against company policy to speak to the press or to-

Dr.[]: We will intercede on your behalf, if necessary. Though that is highly unlikely.

S[]: Alright. Well, the store's in the middle of nowhere, to be honest. I mean it, you can look it up on a map. We're mostly there to service delivery trucks, which is why we have diesel when almost none of out other stores in the state do.

Dr.[]: So you would say you are remote?

S[]: Remote undersells it. I'm usually lucky to see two customers an hour. We sit right next to a major interstate, but almost all our business is during the day.

Dr.[]: Please describe the event, then.

S[]: Alright. It started on Tuesday, when I came back from a vacation. The night seemed pretty normal until I started to get weird customers.

<S[] begins to look around.>

S[]: I mean, very weird customers. We have glass windows all along the front, right? The store faces out east. There's nothing but desert behind us, no parking north or south of the store. Everything is in view. I start seeing people come in from the north and the south of the store.

Dr.[]: How is that strange?

S[]: Well… no one drove up. No one drove out. There's nothing for miles, man, just road and desert. Nothing. That's what I told R[] <The agent that brought him there.>, there shouldn't be practically anyone that can walk there. It'd take…

<S[] considers, looking at the cieling.>

S[]: At least a few hours. To get to my store from town. At the least. But one after another, for half the shift, every two or three minutes. After a while, it started to get weirder, like… The people stopped wearing colors. Their hair was always grey-ish. Same with the eyes. And that's not even going into the other goofy shit from that week. I mean, we doubled sales because the people would be so lost and they had to buy stuff for… walking home…

<S[] looks disturbed at this prospect.>

S[]: I just don't get it. Why would someone walk two or three hours for a [REDACTED] energy drink and a sandwich? It doesn't make any sense, man. I even leaned out the store to watch one leave, and he walked behind the store. When I followed him… Nothing.

Dr.[]: I see. Well, be sure to take the provided medication on your way out.

S[]: I'm not going crazy, am I? I've heard about -

Dr.[]: No, son. It's all part of the procedure. You'll be fine.

Or something like a German football fan dressed like that he is going to a match that can't speak English and getting upset there isn't any type of beer he wants. Also I find it impractical for the guy that work there to drive hours just to get to work(unless that's actually a thing is 'merica). I also suggest posting it on the actual wiki's forum or somewhere else so more people can give you an opinion.

I think, from a conceptual standpoint, my biggest issue with this is the fact that there seems to be little rhyme or reason as to where this manifests, with the only constant being manned 24-hour gas stations with attached convenience stores. Like, if it only affected a specific region, or was an anomaly with some sort of deeper pattern as far as "infection" goes, I think that would be beneficial.

Beyond that, logs and other addendums would make or break this.

I got two ideas. Working titles and in need of fleshing out. Feel free to use.

>The Shelter

Apartment building has door in its basement/cellar that leads to room that seems to extend infinitely to left, forward, right and up. Currently I don't have much to flesh it out, only possibility that it causes people inside to become paranoid that something lurks in there.

>Self-Replenishing Convenience store

Located in the intersection of two roads that have been closed by authority, is seemingly normal store. It contains large selection of food and various other day-to-day essentials that have so far displayed no anomalous properties. Anomalous property of the store itself manifests every midnight when store resets into pristine condition with clean floors and shelves filled with fresh goods. This happens regardless of how much stuff has been removed or foreign objects introduced. Everything not belonging there would disappear although this might be too convenient way of disposing hazardous material.

That sounds cool. An idea that just came to mind was just a door and on the other side its concrete wall where the door you enter is and it expands infinitely and a concrete ground that also expands infinitely with literally fucking nothing. But honestly that doesn't sound all that interesting and would probably be something like infinite storage. Or there is a twist where you cant close the door or else you lose all your shit or they actually use it to trash RPCs deemed to dangerous and its considered a Pandora's Box type of deal. It contains all types of shit put in it that the Authority is just too fucking scared to open it again or at least its a massive fucking gamble, the more they put in the more they risk that shit getting out when they try to put another thing in. Or maybe its just been fucked already causing the whole thing to be abandoned after some nasty shit did come out after using it again. Or something more creative, fuck.

>Should agents be charged with manning "infected" stores?

>Should the RPC tend to affect stores in the middle of nowhere? I think the southwestern US may be a good range for an area to affect.

>If the RPC comes up with new methods of inflicting inconveniences on the regular, it may make sense to redirect non-anomalous customers, due to the potential hazard to well-being.

>Amazing Co Spider Replant

It's a can of an unknown chemical that instantly repels spiders that dispenses at 160 miles per hour and increases in force over time, but never runs out. However due to shoddy engineering the cap can get stuck and the spray won't stop unless the can is contained in a hermetically sealed pressure vessel such that 2 bar is reached and the reaction hits equilibrium. If left unconstrained, it could replace the entire atmosphere if the change in mass in the universe doesn't cause catastrophe first.

I like the Shelter but I do think there could be more to it. I've only thought of a twist, is that the Shelter isn't simple to enter for one and/or more person at different times.

Which I mean, researcher A will enter it at 0900 and then researcher B will enter it 0930 but is unable to find A, even with radio communication guiding him. B is only able to find A outside of the Shelter when they both exit. It makes it as that if you need a group inside the Shelter, you need to move in together as a group at the same time (roughly).

Strangely that effect doesn't apply to objects, only living subjects. They can still stay in touch via radio but they are incapable of seeing and hearing each other even if they're in the same room - whether it's marked or have noticeable things in it e.g. a table with a note to the researcher B, from researcher A stating that A is right in the room.

I don't know if it's interesting enough though.

I'd honestly ask the site if it would make sense to move Amazing Co beyond foodstuffs. Beyond that, seems like it could work, although you may have to think outside the box as far as how it was discovered goes, since it sounds like it would cause an extreme scenario if it was not found quickly by The Authority.

On a related note, another idea I had but will probably never ever get to is Amazing Co gummy vitamins, which basically is like SCP-500, but will replace whatever the consumer is suffering with some sort of other ailment, possibly related to the flavor of gummy ingested.

Anyone wanna take my idea and expand on it?

Its a mirror that seems to allow solid items to pass through to another "dimension". Researchers use the D-Class to feel around inside it and they say it feels like running their hands through water but with more resistance. anything that submergerges itself too long or too much of its surface area, it gets pulled in.

Then during some testing using shaped blocks to test the limits some retard pushes a hollow cylinder tube shape in and all hell breaks loose as mercury looking shit begins to flood out of the mirror.

So now the mirror is sealed up but the pressure of the stream of metallic liquid is breaking containtment.

If it's a metal cylinder, solve it by hooking up a super magnet to yank it out. The anomalous 'liquid' is then xxx-1 and they test it out in a giant swimming pool. Maybe even use it to store other RPC's. A non-reactive, heavy, nigh indestructible liquid is really usefull.

Hell, it could be a great lubricant, or heat sink. Does it even react to heat? Does it evaporate? These are questions that need asking.

A good starting place could be heavy water. Thank you Megalobox for informing me it makes for an excellent sautee.

>13th month

Here's an idea, any time looped items or persons are quarantined within that month.

Now historically there are two to five names to choose from. Mercedonius or Mercedinus (Latin for "Work Month"), also known as Interkalaris or Intercalaris. Aswell as Undecember, from a more modern attempt at reform.

>This month, instituted according to Roman tradition by Numa Pompilius, was supposed to be inserted every two or three years to align the conventional 355-day Roman year with the solar year.

That, with a variable and as little as 23 day Februarius meant the mensis intercalaris was 27-28 days long.

There is also Ophiuchus, the thirteenth constellation to some. The 'serpent bearer'. This month of yours could be the serpent escaped of his grasp, let loose for a while to nab its own tail.

>Ophiuchus holds apart the serpent which with its mighty spirals and twisted body encircles his own, so that he may untie its knots and back that winds in loops. But, bending its supple neck, the serpent looks back and returns: and the other's hands slide over the loosened coils. The struggle will last forever, since they wage it on level terms with equal powers

Considering other things, I'd recommend this month be attached to some healing grace. A rod of asceplius or some other serpent reminding device, that takes a day of suffering or gives one more day. Perhaps speed up a cure or slow the progression of a disease, all while taking or filling from this anomalous time.

The only way to leave it is to follow the tram tracks out with eyes closed Unless someone cursed a different, but overlapping area to be a loop so you can get stuck in a loop within a loop

You think you're looping, but each one has slight variations and errors that get larger and worse each time.

Eventually there's more 'errors' than 'variations', and you start running into shit like "Cars are halfway fused into the ground" and "That building is sideways". People walking around with missing sections of flesh like that half-cat.

I'd need a lot of time, but I think the things we need are:

>Interview with a little more meat

>A better list of events

>An observation log of two stores over the course of one night - one at the start of 'infection', one later on, showing clear progression from passive-aggression to outright hostility

One thing I want to avoid is fatality. A lot of the entries on the site seem to like to invoke it as a gut-punch or a kicker that's a little cheap, and myt imagining of Inconvenience Store is that it will never kill its employee or directly get them fired, just give them terrible, terrible shifts and customers.

I got an idea based on weird dream I had. Essentially, it's a barely literate street thug that has anomalous ability to transform people that he stabs (or otherwise causes to bleed) to turn into well-mannered, soft-spoken individuals with unquestioning loyalty to said barely literate street thug no matter what he asks of them. More severe injury is caused, the faster the process is. Instances gain increased ability to stop bleeding and resist shock.

Faggots are some of the biggest megalomaniacs on the planet. Everything has to be about them and their dysfunction. It's completely out of character for the Foundation to allow any kind of politics into it's midst (unless an object calls for it), considering idealogical schisms manifesting between employees while they're dealing with objects that can destroy humanity and then some if it's containment procedures aren't perfectly followed to the letter will compromise everything the Foundation has ever worked for, but try telling these "people" that.

First one is shit as it's using a ironic meme unironically. It used to be that the "virgin" was obviously superior things given a negative spin and the "chad" was obviously negative things given a positive spin. Then plebbit and fagbook got to it and took it at face value, thereby removing a layer of humor. Now it's just another single layer "my thing is better than your thing" meme, no better than political comics. Trash. Second is pretty decent though.
