End your sentences with a full stop. When you forget to add a full stop, the Ai treats it as an open sentence and takes more liberty with the response. Ex: Pick up notepad.
Avoid multiple sentences and commas. The Ai tends to get confused with more than a sentence and usually attempts to execute the last sentence(not very well). Instead use 'and' to lengthen your sentence. Ex: Draw claymore and slash orc in the face.
When you want to say something you prefix it with a speaking action Ex: Say "We should burn the supplies". You can also choose who to speak to. Ex: Say to Benjamin "These lands belong to your father".
Use /remember to keep track of introduced characters and their motives.
Punish yourself by using /revert more. Scrutinize yourself before blaming the Ai. Restructure your sentence or attempt the sentence again and see if you get a different response that you are happy with.
When you attempt an action. It's okay if the outcome is not what you wanted but it's not okay if your character completely ignores the action.
Ex: Smash through the brick wall with your shoulder. Ai: You decide to go home and sleep. ←- this is a failed action because your character didn't do the action you stated.
However if you get a response like this… Ai: You attempt to smash the wall but you are too frail. ←– this is fine. You have attempted the action but the game world/RNG rolled against you. Accept it as part of the story.
The Ai may have knowledge on your favourite universe. For example the Ai knows a lot about Warhammer40k and lotr. So if you begin a prompt using keywords from these universes - you'll have a focused story.
Use longer prompts. If anyone is interested I can go into detail on how to create prompts using Wikipedia etc.
Your actions should begin with a verb (doing word). Ex: Hit, Slam, Jump, grab etc. Do not use 'You' at the start of your sentence. It's okay to have you/your anywhere else in your sentence.
Do NOT refer to yourself in the first person (I, me, my). The Ai recognises your character in the second person. So always refer to yourself in the second person.
If the Ai is stubborn and you really want to execute a certain action. Use the ! At the start of a sentence. Ex: !The orc slumps over and triggers the trap. Avoid using this excessively.
It's okay to ignore some of what the Ai says. For example, let's say you received a very good response but the Ai attempts to derail you at the end by saying 'You hear an explosion' or something that isn't pertinent to your story so far. Just continue with what you were planning on doing without acknowledging the Ai erratic addition. DO NOT ignore it if the Ai does wacky things like change your location and sends you to bed or makes a couple year passes.
Overall: You need to strike a balance between making sure your actions are carried out and accepting a pertinent outcome.
