I probably put the most time into the very first map and I honestly don't remember much from the first game. BlOps 2 had Moon and that one with George Romero though which I remember really liking.

I hope it makes some sort of comeback like how it was instead of some faggy story experience.

I don't like the zombie mode in Call of Duty (no matter the iteration). Why do headshots stop working after the first wave? Zombies should die with one bullet to the head. Is it because of the console hardware limitations? My ideal for a Zombie mode should be more zombies wave after wave and perhaps some tougher zombie type like a boss or modifiers on the map once you reach a certain number of waves.

Kino is the best map. It's nice and simple, but still a good amount to do and explore. Everything after got to complex for it's own good.

It's been so long that I'm getting the games mixed up. I liked the storytelling aspect of it being there if you wanted it rather than it going well off the rails and forced like in the later games

Call of the dead! one of my favorite maps, and the only one (I think?) that's never had a proper remake.

Only the maps starring the original crew were remade. All maps starring anyone else, including Call of the Dead, were never remade. Call of the dead had a shitty re-imagining, along with Mob of the Dead, in Black Ops 4, but that game, and all of its maps, were trash.

I wish I had the screencap. I might sift through the archives to find it later, I think it was around blops4's release. The exact thread was about IGN's review being buttmad about Takeo's accent or something, but it eventually spiralled into someone explaining the timeline, and shit got crazy by the time dimension 32 got brought up and people were drawing graphs.

Lmao. I member back when zombies was about killing nazi zombies. It was truly at its peak when it was a game without contrived semi-deep time travel. Like going to different points in time without causing causality loops, altering previously established events, etc. is good and all, like oh shit we're in the 60's now to fit with Black Ops 1's setting instead of the 40's? Sweet! Damn, we're in a time loop and we're actually fucking breaking the loop?! That's fucking dope bro, yo shit we're in the filming of a zombie movie in the current year!? DAMN! Time travel can be a good way to make settings change without having much convoluted writing, but when the game started being about fucking weird tentacle porn demons and magik rok from tentacle porn demons and 6 gorillion dimensions and faggots being niggers in all of them it's just… god.

Like, remember Mob of the Dead? The map in Black Ops 2 where you play as mobsters in Hell after being executed? The fact that this was probably Hell made it interesting, you were literally fighting against evil, because you sinned in life. I loved how it worked with the cycle, etc. etc. It really brought an added layer of thematic depth. In comes Black Ops 4 a few years later, and it's not Hell. I can't believe it's not hell! No, it's weird tentacle porn demons reaching out to communicate with the guy owning Alcatraz to sacrifice the prisoners to <NOT HELL>

Oh I absolutely understand your grievance, but personally, I enjoyed what an absolute clusterfuck it was half the time. I agree that by around origins the plots for the maps were getting out of hand, but I was totally here for whatever retardation Treyarch was giving out.

Sadly, Blops4 didn't pan out according to plan from what I understand, and all of the "Aether" maps were remakes, not to say they didn't have a lot of content to them (I enjoyed classified, and while I didn't play the original, people who have have spoken highly of the remake despite not having the old characters).

For clarification, iirc Treyarch was assigned to be the primary devs for CoD 2020, with sledgehammer and raven being set aside as support. This call was made when they still had plans for Blops4, so I can only assume whatever else they may have wanted to do with it got trashed.
