Been there, still there. The only thing I can recommend is keeping yourself distracted with stuff, be it anime, manga, books, old movies, games, or whatever. The more time you devote to thinking about stuff that keeps you feeling shitty, the more those thoughts become your default state of mind. It'll take a long time to force yourself out of that state.
I think I'm slightly better now than I was two years ago when I quit my horrible call center job. At the time, I was years past the breaking point, and I was genuinely about to snap. It took almost a year to stop having nightmares about that fucking place, but I still keep thinking about it out of nowhere, like when I'm deliberating on whether to have milk or orange juice with my breakfast. Intrusive trauma.
Just keep it together as best you can, and forget about everybody else's bullshit. Don't worry about politics. Ironically, having lots of guns makes me much less worried, as if everything goes to complete shit, I won't die of sickness or starvation.

I try and most of the times it doesn't help much. It's a deep existential dread, the feeling that time is running out and I haven't done anything important or substantial with my life and that I likely never will. At some point everything will fade into the void. I can look back at good memories and feel nostalgic, but there's no soul, it feels wasted and empty. And it only increasingly gets harder and harder to look forward. I fuck up and fuck up but I don't know what to learn from it or what the next step should be afterwards. I'd say I want to be or feel like a kid again, but everyone says that. It's only the memories that make me think that. Truth is, I've always felt like shit, even as a kid. So even if it was possible, I'd but stuck in the same boat, nothing would change and nothing would be fixed.
Yet at the same time I see the irony in it, and it's funny in a cosmic sort of way. I suppose every situation needs some way to laugh at it.

Worry not about looking forward to anything, nor should you try to measure the weight of your own life. One cannot see the maze while trapped inside it, and one cannot know one's value to others unless they go off-script and outright tell you. I've been dead before. It's not bad, nothing to worry about. Admittedly, it's not very fun getting there, but my last conscious thought was relief at being done with all of this bullshit. But then about twelve minutes later, my heart re-started, and the agony of coming back had begun.
Anyway, the more you dwell on something, the more strength it gains, like a rut in a path through the woods. The more wheels that slip into that rut, the deeper it becomes, and more easy to slip into when not riding carefully. Maybe some active distraction instead of the passive kind? Dunno. It's easier to do when you can be around people regularly. It gives a point to things like baking, barbecuing, or artistic pursuits. Making stuff, fixing stuff, those are fine distractions for me, but it takes a lot of motivation to get started on any project, and quite a bit to continue it to completion. It is indeed difficult, and if you're burned out, such motivation is rare and fleeting. I cannot recommend meditation, as that can often turn into counterproductive introspection. Just find an alternate mental path to forge, a trail to blaze, and do what you can to stay off of the old, rutty trail until it's covered in the brush and brambles of faded memory again.

Orcs Must Die, I really still enjoy it but there's a bug where sprinting switches to either your most recent trap/spell slots which makes sprinting to help stem a breach somewhere a bitch when you're expecting to freeze/stun orcs and end up spawning an archer or something.
Going to try Shogun 2 TW to see if I still even like the series since Total Warhammer 3 might be interesting and I have no money/patience to jump through whatever hoops to pirate 2's mountains of DLC.

Nothing. Tried a few episodes of breaking bad but I just don't see the appeal and the wigger character is actively getting on my nerves.
There was also a documentary/drama about the sinai insurgency. It's pretty much propaganda for the Egyptian army with nearly every scene being big grand speeches about the ideology differences, the army and the war but it still hit close to home considering how being lazy and staying in bed saved me from a bombing.
