They claim that you can do the entire main quest. I think the optional quests are in as well. I urge anyone who likes Daggerfall to give it a try. It has options for improved enemy AI, enemy infighting, and smaller dungeons, plus no physics bugs compared to vanilla. Only got stuck like once in ten hours. The only major drawback is that you have to use mouselook: there's no option to control the camera with the keyboard

DFUnity is a frontend; you need the original game files to make it work and those are free anyway. I can't imagine anything other than a severe lapse in judgment leading to a lawsuit

What would be the grounds for the suit? It's essentially a new front end to the same old assets. Licensing agreement violation for the assets, I guess? Even then, spending actual money to shut down a zero dollar project on grounds that are THAT shaky seems like a bad business decision. Sure, other companies do it, but people like Nintendo have a whole lot more occurrences of fan games using their IP than Bethesda does–not that I agree that Nintendo is doing the right thing. Then again, it doesn't cost much to send a threatening C&D letter.

Bethesda as a company is also 100% dependent on modders since their inhouse-pajeets can't fix bugs or come up with gameplay mechanics to save their lifes.

If they sue, there's going to be a lot of butthurt modders, and I doubt they'd risk that, at least without them making a remake of Daggerfall which will hopefully never happen.
