So that battle network roguelite has been officially out for over a week now, anyone here play it and what do you guys think of it.
Personally all I got from playing it is the overwhelming desire to have this not be a roguelite.

Oh shit I've always wanted to play Mega Man Battle Network but as a roguelike indie game with hideous pixel art and starring the girl from Cave Story in a stupid outfit they're probably not that similar but I can't help but think it.
At least it's not Revolution 60.

I enjoy it, but the slay the spire deckbuilding means you have to take cards that are generally useful and braindead, with not much room to experiment. Trying to play any deck that's slow and deliberate late game falls apart since you need to kill one or two enemies instantly before your screen becomes undodgeable, which leads to certain characters being much stronger than others; Gunner is a monster, while Terra's gimmick is unplayable late game (her alt kit is still fun though).
I love seeing all the comments about how the game is too hard though, it's a reminder of how terrible 90% of the public is at games, they can't remember basic attack patterns. I've also noticed people bitching because they try and over rely on certain synergies and tunnel visioning into it, causing them to ignore abilities that are just generally useful.

I find myself always pouring my upgrade points into the diagonal glimmer spell and trying to get doublecast on the aoe ice crystals. The ice character also has too tight of a timing on the weapon dash -> self-aoe spell, but that could just be me using a keyboard until I uncuck my controller. Still waiting for more spells and enemies in the workshop, and co-op softlocked me. Steam play together also does not properly render the game (but lets be real, you cant play this outside of LAN due to latency). Pvp is more like training your friend for the real game, the decklist is fixed for each character and just feels wrong. There's also some streamer voting function for twitch, if you ever feel like gouging your brain out.

The only experimental deck I tried I named Minnegun turbo.
Remove the deck except minigun and whirl because you need this for hostages and acquire focus and pray you get merit badge (makes all cards do 1 more damage if you save a hostage) in the artefact pool.
Mini gun is a 5x12 (60) power card but when you use focus first time in a fight it becomes 7x12(84) if you saved a hostage it now becomes 6x12 and 8x12. and you can keep using focus to constantly scale this up during the duration of the fight, get double cast on both and maybe even more shots on minnegun.
you can also get a bunch of other cards that increase card power by 3 and 4 which you take all of regardless of the penalty they have because you're already needing to take like 12 pacts early game to even try to get this to work so why care about more penalties and by the end of eden loop zero your damage starts to look like this.
29x14(406) and rising, get a power gem and add an extra 140 when focus boosts the damage above 40, mini missiles also proc on every hit so you keep getting chances for extra 40 damage.
You play zone 1-4 with constant penalties and get punished extremely hard for sub par damage, but after that you should have an infinitely powering up mini gun upgraded 3 times and a focus at least upgraded once that only will continue to power creep itself.

I don't think the devs can even justifiably patch this because imagine telling players they're scared someone can just play the game extremely punishing for half the game and then be ok for damage but eventually will spiral out of control on the third run through.

the game has a better mana bar and no map overlay any more, i havent taken any screenshots but it doesnt quite look that bad. the game is too fast paced to care much about appearance either way.
