I've been playing PCars 2 with some friends and it feels pretty good. It's a simcade since the damage is sorta wonky among other things but for pals it's a good time
In terms of a new F-Zero maybe? I tend to be more into the sim side of racing games but if it looked interesting enough then I might give it a shot. Unfortunately I'm too much of a zoomer to have played the originals

Those are all top tier racing games. I really like both games and really like the Circuit Edition on the Saturn.
I been playing NFS HP 2010 and R: Racing Evolution.
NFS HP is a very fun game to run through and people still play multiplayer. This is still the best modern NFS due to fun HP, racing, and just geting faster times is fun due to the course design being nice to look at and Play. I just wish the soundtrack was better (at least the game makes it easy to play background music) and had better performance on pc.
R: Racing Evolution is pretty good game with a fun story mode and a great soundtrack, which is standard for the ridge racer series. The handing takes a small bit of time to get use to, but once that is out of the way, the game gets pretty comfy.

I tried the latter one and while i did like it, especially the main character, my street racing autismo prevented me from playing it. I like street races too much and hate tracks.
Mostly playing forza horizon 4 lately. I really enjoy graphics, driving sensation and the amount of cars and vinyls but multiplayer is a mess. I'm always looking to some nice pvp but it's either a 6v6 circus, a 12 player deathmatch or some obnoxious games like CTF. I just want proper 1v1 racing like in Initial d or Wangan.

If a new f-zero comes out, I want blast turning to actually be useful instead of just 'turns tighter but slower than everything else and is garbage without additional techniques' and make boosting not require pressing the A button or just make pressing the A button not slow you down past the max speed.

Rfactor 1 and 2 have these massive racing as well as iracing, however to be competitive you need a proper racing wheel set and to practice.

I could go for another Ridger Racer like the ones on the PSP with all the ps1 and arcade courses.
Actually Namco should just make a ridge racer with all the courses from RR7, RR3D, 64, and RR2PSP in one game, with a huge tracklist of new & returning favorites. Keep the gameplay either like RR7 with it's adjustable nitro setup or go to type 4 gameplay.

Wipeout is great series, just don't play the one that is exclusive to PS2.
Wipeout generally plays quite differently than F-Zero and is more focus on fine craft control on narrow courses. Weapon usage helps, but will not help if you can't get a good run on the course or hit the wall. Soundtrack wise, I like the ost of the older ones more, but the newer ones still have good music choices.

Wipeout Pure contains an extremely obscure and awful Aphex Twin song.
They also got its title wrong in the tracklisting, wew. It's called Naks 11 [Mono] but in-game they called it Naks Acid.

GTA Online Transform races can be surprisingly fun. Same with certain player made races. Not worth getting the game for, but if you already have it, might be worth revisiting if you've overlooked them.

Theres not many racers with classic cars, but off the top of my head
>Project Cars 1-2 has some classic cars in each game
>Assetto Corsa has some classic cars, but they are more along the lines of early super/race cars.
>Driveclub has a variety of cars but is in the same boat as Assetto, you get a shitload of old cars… with them being first generation ferraris, lambos, as well as other brands of supercars.
>DIRT Rally 1 and 2 allows you to play with the assload of rally spec cars, of course Colins subaru is now used as preorder bonuses for each new game.
Considered trying motorbikes? its a refreshing change after driving cars so much, Isle of Man is great as well as Ride series.

Dont know yet, Isle of Man TT 2 came out recently and there's going to be DLC bikes, i haven't been playing it much as the PC version needs a lot of work.
Those guys are braver then us, that's for sure.
