Dwarf Fortress is not actually bottlenecked by the CPU clock.

Instead the biggest bottleneck exists between the RAM and the CPU cache due to the game being programmed as a scientific simulation machine instead of a video game. Getting the right RAM latency can boost your FPS in the double digits for one, clocking your CPU past 5 Ghz does jack shit. In theory if you had a CPU with 250mb cache, clock speed would then actually become a bottleneck. Source:someone who actually built a dorf machine

In the game JTF: Joint Task Force, if your forcefully tell engineers to go back to the repair vehicle while they're doing repairs before they can finish they'll materialize supplies out of thin air because supplies are consumed only if the repair is finished but the game seems to assume they consume it as soon as they go out of the repair vehicle with a repair order.

So in theory an EPYC / Threadripper is actually better at running DorfFort than anything else (consdering up to 224MB of L3 cache with single core boost of up to 4.7GHz)?

Vampires in the playstation 3 (unpatched probably) Port of TESIV Oblivion that comes with KOTN and nothing else MAY have a hidden feature that confers 25% off your sunlight vulnerability, I've only ever triggered this once, and only on the PS3 version, but since losing access to that medium, I've had no luck replicating this on my PC GOTY edition with other pirated DLC, the official patches, unnoficial, and even the OBSE Sunlight damage fix- to test this out- use item duplication to master alchemy, avoid sleeping and constantly heal yourself whilst taking sunlight damage- As this was on the PS3- assumingly it's possible this is linked to your savegame, level and NOT cleaning the savegame (Bloat has to be maintained if acquired.

I got the message outside of the Cavern where you go to witness the necromancers revenat, but I know on that save I aquired Polypheric haemophilla from the fort just off of the Lovecraft/secret Molag Bal cult.

Due to how long this took to appear and that I was not paying much attention, I'm not sure if this is even real, is my imagination playing up, or if it's some mandella effect bullshit- but these should be your parameters for testing this out

>Use alchemy to endure sunlight damage- never fast travel, do not autosave make potent healing potions you can use the wait timer on

Other possible variables that may affect this triggering- Means of contracting vampirism, (Vincente, corpse container opening, or getting it in combat from the vampires in the fort from the Deep One town) be a Dark-elf or Argonian (I know I was one of those races for my PS3 saves)

I think it occurs in some manner relative to gameplay time, or some hidden factor related to sunlight damage taken-

Allegedly, the text box that came up informs you of something along the lines of basking the rays of the sunlight- then mentioning you're more resistant to damage. Don't cheat your vampirism by feeding- embrace it, and play as normal- It took forever playing as one for this thing to trigger, which is why I've never rediscovered it since then.

The biggest mystery is that it may actually be a part of an earlier patch of TESIV- so if one were to replicate it on PC- they'd have to look into what patch/version and equivalent that would be on a PC version.

Try it out for a week in playtime of TESIV on that version of the game, if nothing happens, start fucking around with the duplication glitch, alchemy and usign the wait times- basically chug some potions and wait in raw sunlight for long hours or 8 hours at a time- you may want to measure how many hours you can wait before death whilst under healing effects- saving neardeath/on death/test saves may be able to determine this for you.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow's luck system is broken- can confirm having done an entire playthrough with luck based souls and items- is fixed by a patch- but this still dosn't make up for some of the shittier elements of DoS, such as the fucking boss finisher mechanic, and the fact that because luck is fucked, so is grinding souls as well as shitty enemy placement in certain areas in the game- one of biggest issues being the eyehound- because YOU NEED it's soul to get shit done when you're spelunking, and the fucker is barely anywhere across the entire fucking game- there's also some parts where rooms are just boring corridoors with ONE fucking enemy, or some of the redundant uncreative rooms with the touchscreen gimmick items that are only used to progress forward- and there seems to be some MASSIVE game changes to items in regional versions of the game- I think in some instances some weapon speical attacks do not work/sequence break/room puzzle in the propwer manner, and drop chance/luck may be fixed/also changed.

There's also a glitch for sequence breaking in a cutscene, as it turns out- you're supposed to go through a certain location from that long tower part with the trident demons to this cutscene with the cult bitch and not from the clocktower to that location- it dosn't fuck anything up, but it really is bizzare when arikado and others aren't facing you as it's playing in the wrong location.

On that note- some boss fights are piss easy- AI desparately needs tweaking in some fights. It's been a while since I played, some areas are devoid of enimies, some areas are clearly unfinished (that fucking water section with barely anything in it) or are missing idealized enemy placement. Only thing I didn't play was the bad end run with Somadracula- which needs fucking translating already- I couldve sworn Soma says something with one of the party in his poseessed state, but I can't recall to save my life.

So yeah, before playing DOS, get the luck patch, and probably the MUGEN castleania dude's portrait patch. There is this one JP version which was more promising than the rest which I can't recall right now.

You can beat the MJ12 Director in DAH1 with extract, and if you position yourself correctly, you can also collect her brain before the scutscene plays. Both in DAH1&2 there are places where no collision is present allowing you to clip out of the map, die, explore blue hell or softlock yourself- some of these are present in destroyed buildings, others in their defautl state, one fond memory is of crashing the UFO INSIDE of a mars bridge and getting it stuck there, which is possible. There's a shitload of map mayhem fun on those games as well as exploration to be had until you reach game omnipotence by simply exploring and looking at the raw makeup of the game from a PC perspective.

TESIV broke the chain of TES liches being fucking nightmare monsters that can onshot the unprepared- as well as contradicted the nature of a liches soul, as daggerfall has an instance of needing specially prepared soul gems to capture a liches soul- if such a thing is even present in the creature's body at all. TES:O utterly shits on Order of the worm & Sload lore, as well as lichlore in general. Liches are infact, incomplete creatures in TESIV due to lacking h2h animations.

The whole Dracula reincarnation cycle schtick has been around since Vampire killer on that one old PC for castlevania, Simon's quest is the first look into the whole Dracula having a little pocket plane to fuck off to when dead- the goal was to bring him back as what is now the Dracula Wraith (HODis) to cancel him sucking Simon's lifeforce out to fully resurrect per his curse.

Kojima Castlevania fixed not a single fucking thing about Dracula's origin lore, fucker was still not actually dracula and played the exact same needlessly complex shit as LOI, The only time something close to that was proposed was the never-ever castlevania movie, which was turned into the netflix ((anime))- and they've still not addressed the events of Bram Stoker's Dracula being canon.

There's a particular track in the formula 1 2001 ps1 vidya where you can eternally race the track in reverse until you break the speedometer and if you hit another races during this period, you elevate and get caught in your own self generated space–time continum, suspended in animation forever. It was one of the coolest fucking things I ever did as a kid.

A good chunk of the fish you can eat in Jaws Unleashed are in out-of bounds areas, no way to get them, even if you bugger around with cheats on save profile generation- it's like the only way to 100% it is to emulate and use hacks of someking.

The Shield Helicarrier in Ultimate spiderman is a collisionless mesh that is tagged to your model as venom- so trying to catch it/touch it won't work T.Man who spend hours rampaging as to see if it was possible to reach and clipped through it.

Turok Evolution on the GBA is essentially an entirely diffrent game that is incredibly awesome, and with a great OST that everyone overlooks it.

You can insta-break any and all game mechanics in Morrowind by crafting a resist magic spell and using it before putting on the Boots of Blinding Speed thus negating the blinding effect. This renders the game unlosable because the 200 speed it confers lets you outrun any and all enemies in the game.

In skyrim….

Npcs are glorified containers. You can even access their inventory remotely using console commands.

MW, OB, and SK have a default player character name and race. I forgot what they were for the other games.

If you use console commands from the main menu to teleport somewhere, you will end up playing as a nord named "Prisoner". He has a full set of gear, and a grey head. I never played too long as the default pc to see what effects it has on the game.

Being able to shout isn't special. Literally ALL npcs can use shouts. In fact, some npc "spells" are just a shout.

You know those npcs who can't be killed because they're "essential"? Well you can be invincible too! Just use the console command "setessential 7 1". The command uses the base ID of a character, and the pc's id is just "7".

If you want to learn about skyrim's innards, then check out the jewtube channel pms00.

There's nothing special about that boots

Morrowind is already unloseable if you play it normally(whatever it means). Just gain any attack skill about 60, enough protection so you dont get one-shot, then if you have any trouble just pause the game(RMB) and heal yourself.

You can just make potion of speed for 2000 or 20k without that shit with boots.

Even if potions were limited to 100 like spells, alchemy gives you unlimited mana so you're basically a god anyway.

tl;dr you didn't understand Morrowind at all.

File: 12b8acbc2727a32⋯.jpg (35.95 KB, 316x315, 316:315, Ys_III.jpg)

Ys III wasn't originally supposed to be an Ys game. The developers simply used a sprite of Adol as a placeholder until the artist could make a new one. The artist misunderstood and thought it was supposed to be an Ys game so he made a bunch of Ys art assets for it. After this the developers decided to use the art and make it an Ys Gaiden game. The executives of Falcom, at the 11th hour, decided to call it Ys III to capitalize on the success of Ys I and II. Because of the short notice, some of the original copies of the game only have the "Wanderers of Ys" title on the box with the "Ys III" part. Ys III was also the last game Ys game that the creators of the series worked on. Afterwards they left Falcom and went on to form Quintet.

he's never been shown as going to the moon in any Ys game

I don't think it's canon to Ys. IIRC the reason there are people on the moon in the Lunar games is because mankind ruined Earth so Athena turned the moon into a habitable place and sent the survivors there. All the scenes with Lucia on Earth in Lunar 2 show it as being a frozen wasteland. The world in the Ys games isn't anything like that, at least not yet. Game Arts probably just put Adol in the game to pay homage to Ys then Falcom later came up with a story about Adol going to the moon as a nod to Lunar. An Ys game set on the moon would be really cool though.

It is possible to crouch while climbing ladders in E.Y.E. Like sprinting, this does not affect your climbing speed - therefore climbing while crouching allows to recover some extra energy.

Running and trying to aim down the iron sights will raise up the weapon as a makeshift shield. This does not raise a PSI barrier but can nevertheless still block shots. Most noticeable with heavy weapons such as the Sulfatum.

Fatal injuries can be abused to lower your stats below the diminishing returns treshold, allowing you to spend only 1 point to raise the stat back up to the treshold. Once the GenX biotech is researched, you will gain the lost points back at no extra cost.

Picking up a dual katana from the ground will not despawn it. This can be abused (altough it is quite time consuming) to heal back to full health without a medkit: drop katana, pick up katana, alchemy katana on the floor, repeat.

Really? Paintballs are made of hardened geletin which can hurt pretty bad and cause bruising. But in splatoon its just paint splash that causes you to respawn at a spawn point. If anything, it was inspired by de blob you fucking idiot. Otherwise in the eat lead intro they wouldnt have deliberately stated they were talking about a paint ball video game (which have existed far before eat lead), not a shooter game that causes tons of splash on screen. Which was probably eat lead referencing de blob 1 in the intro as eat lead is a massive parody game. Which could have (by extension), actually inspired the creation of splatoon.

It's actually possible to play as the Papal States in Medieval 2's campaign, you just have to dig around in your game files and set them to playable and you can use this to play as the rebels as well- though what you CANNOT play as are the Mongols, Timurids, and Aztecs (except in the new world campaign)

Similarly, it's possible to change the flow of time in the game, for example you can set a single turn to equal 2 years, one year to take 12, a year to be 4 turns etc.

Despite the many mods the game has, Medieval 2 actually has a pretty bad engine that makes modding it pretty difficult.

Mega Man ZX has a well known feature where if you have a copy of Zero 3 or Zero 4 in the GBA slot of the DS you can fight 4 bosses from each game.

I've seen a few people call this as a negative because that surely means just under less than half of the bosses are hidden behind a GBA lock on gimmick. But the fact of the matter is it's actually the game ripping the bosses straight from the GBA because they legit ran out of memory on the DS cartridge so they couldn't without using trickery with making the DS read the GBA cart put those bosses in.

Everything in it rapes the lore hard.

>The Elder Scrolls are written replicas of the universe, and CHIM is a metaphysical state where you take control of reality the way a lucid dreamer takes control of their dream, so now you can collect The Elder Scroll of CHIM to give your faction a 5% running speed bonus.

>Bosmer live under a pact with their god that prevents them from transforming into rampaging monsters so long as they obey laws like not cutting down the trees in their homeland, so some of the first promotional images for TESO show the Bosmer clearing a forest in their homeland and using its wood to build houses.

>After Oblivion retconned out Cyrodiil's jungles and rainforests, TESO made the official declaration that all of the lore from before Oblivion describing Cyrodiil as being made of up jungles and rainforests was only "a transcription error".

>According to TESO's "loremaster," all of the non-TESO lore is just a "fanciful portrayal" of the world of The Elder Scrolls and TESO's version of the world is the only version that actually counts.

In Digimon World, you can digivolve to Warugarurumon, but the model is unfinished, and only the legs show up.

If you get Sukamon/Nanemon, they recover HP and MP when they eat poop.

Not really a secret, more of a technique:

In Unreal Tournament 2k4 (and 3), if you get a redeemer on an Onslaught map, the best way to deploy it is to fly above your target with a Raptor, and fire it straight down. Oponents trying to look up to catch it will be gimbal-locked and have a hardtime to counter it. This will however, 100% kill you.

In the first fable, you can abuse the tutorial to get a large amount of Spell-Experience. If you then buy the "Assassins Rush" spell, you can use it to glitch yourself in the Chamber of Ages to place your character bellow the altar of the Sword. The Sword of Aens (a powerfull endgame weapon) is right there at the start of the game, and you can pick it up, teleport out and proceed to steamroll the game.

This may have just been discovered "today" and the video was made by a Korren, so you have to use the auto translate to understand it, so yeah Good chance no anon here is going to know this one, since I'm a DMC autist and even I had no idea.

DMC1 actually has Devil Trigger Distortion, similar to DMC4's. DT Distortion being when you Devil Trigger during the perfect frames of an attack making contact, it can act like huge multiplier to the amount of damage you do. DT Distortion is probably unintentional considering just how powerful it actually makes your attacks, it lets you wipe out DMD bosses health bars in DMC4, and only Dante and Vergil were able to do it I think.

What actually is intentional that I had No idea existed is the fact that when you have Nightmare-β equip, it makes Ifrit attacks from Dante's left arm deal more damage.

As crazy as that extreamly easy to miss detail is, I'm not surprised by it since a similar as easy to miss detail is in DMC3 as well.

in DMC3 Depending on the Devil Arm, or Costume chosen there will be a slight change to your stats. Beowulf gives you slightly better Defense, Nevan improves DT Health Regen ect…

they filed the serial numbers off, not because of any license fall through but because they wanted creative freedom

In Legend of Mana there are various actions that you can use in battle. You can equip two actions at once, and having specific actions equipped for enough fights will unlock new actions. For example, having both Crouch and Jump will eventually unlock High Jump.

In every case (although some are harder than others), if you use the two "unlocking" actions at once, you'll perform the action they unlock even though you don't have it yet, which lets you use higher actions earlier. (e.g. while using Crouch, use Jump and you'll do a High Jump)

Anon, theres nothing wrong about being a creator and making something by taking the inspiration from sources of media and fiction that they love and turning it into something else entirely.

Everybody who makes their own game or what not takes inspiration and soucres from other things to make that game, almost no works of creation in this world is truly original.

Next thing you'll say is Miyazaki is a hack for also making Bloodbourne because its based off of HP Lovecrafts works? Hideaki Itsuno must be a hack too because he actually had Guts and Griffiths armor in Dragons Dogma and took inspiration from western high fantasy works of fiction right?

Anon, stop trying to flex, it just makes you come off as stupid. Yes, Berserk started as medieval Fist of the North which is basically Mad max with Sylvester Stallone doing Bruce Lee, with Mad Max in turn being a live action Violence Jack starting from The Road Warrior, with Violence Jack in turn being inspired by Dante's works. And just aren't "usually" able to make something that still stands on its own merit despite the imitation, it's almost always, because of their autism.

Like I said to the previous anon, that's not what I inferred in my post.

The Final A level of Rtype Final has not only two people (well silhouettes) meeting and fucking in the background for the entire level but the enemy patterns themselves are about as close of a representation of that as you're gonna get from a shmup on top of that.

In many pc games you can set all graphics to very high, then change the sampling to 50% and play at solid high FPS like rich kid in the 90's.

This sounds like bullshit.

Is this a matter of downsampling, or is there some setting I'm overlooking like a retard?

I remember that being posted in a TCRF thread that ended up discussing Persona 4, but we cared more about Naoto asking you to fuck her and make her a woman.

It's sampling/downsampling/supersampling. The ratio of rendering resolution to screen resolution. Set it to a low % and you get solid 60+ FPS with all effects, but 90's jagged graphics.

>This sounds like bullshit.

Both AMD and Nvidia now have tech for realtime upscaling and the result isn't too terrible, not as good as native obviously but better than the lower res version usually, nowhere near the shitshow thatt DLSS was near its launch anyway.

1440p to 4k is pretty popular because it's usually where you see the best results.

Wait what the fuck, wasn't Oblivion Lost supposed to be a completely different game before GSC ditched the concept to use X-Ray for STALKER instead? Give some source, anon.
