I guess, Hajimari is supposed to be "The 3rd", but for Crossbell and Erebonia. We still have the Calvard arc, so there still might be a grand conclusion game with all protagonists after that.

There are patches to inject the official translation into the Vita versions of the first three games.
However the Vita versions of the first three games are not recommended. They were made by a different company who added original content, replaced all the character art, remixed the whole soundtrack (the original OST is a DLC) and messed with the balancing.

Yes, for TitS I would definitely recommend the PC versions.
Then you should play Zero and Ao on PC with fan translations.
For CS1&2 it's PS4 > PC > PS3 > Vita.
For CS3 the PC version should be slightly better than the PS4 version. It was just released today, so we don't know if there are any mayor issues though.

Translation bad, performance bad, DLC costumes broken, no zoom, and no way to completely remove the HUD. I'll expand on the former points after finishing the game, but what I really want to know is if there's a trick to removing the HUD and minimap when exploring? Maybe I'm missing something, but I can only adjust the HUD visibility to stopped, moving, or always. And I could have sworn that the last two CS titles from XSEED had a zoom option.

Anyone know if there is a fix for the slowdowns in Ao on PC? The framerate seems locked to the sprite animations, making any camera movement seem really laggy.
Playing the game in constant 2x turbo mode makes it a lot better, but at the cost of in-game cutscenes looking kind of goofy due to the speed.

The Geofront translation is overall pretty good, but occasionally they took too much liberties. Especially Randy uses a few lines, that are too current year internet slang. They didn't censor anything though.
Known technical problems:
- After about 4 hours the game enters a glitched state, in which some textures are white and you can't save anymore.
- When playing with a controller, the mouse cursor only becomes invisible, but its still there. This causes the selection in menus and combat to jump to the invisible cursor occasionally. Sometime the selected target in combat can't be changed until you have moved the cursor or turned the camera.
