>Currently comes with debug enabled so using demo_record and other commands can help unfuck you on the rare occasions when the game shits itself
>The faction outfit/patch mechanic is neat

>Not eating or drinking every few hours gives you super AIDS
>Water is outrageously radioactive
>The economy is still somewhat retarded
>X-ray engine was NOT designed for inventory management holy fuck what a mess
>Gameplay balance on some of the most common mutants (cats, boars) is iffy

>The game still CTDs occasionally
>Why the fuck is everything that NPCs drop broken and on the verge of completely falling apart despite working fine for them
>Why the fuck does my pristine AK start experiencing FTFs after half a dozen mags
>Why the fuck does my leatherman start falling apart after half a dozen uses and why the fuck can I only use that ~15,000RU repair kit five times
>Fast travel is buggy as hell and game-breaking cheese
>Merchants still won't deal in merchandise in less than great condition despite that being basically the only shit you can get get your hands on from looting victims
>I don't know if it was intentional but some mutants are much more quiet than before
>AI can still be buggy; I domed a bandit from long-distance with a silenced weapon and his buddy didn't even notice; I domed the other one too and then another bandit walked up, looted them and just stood there
Suggestions
>Add some sort of crafting stash at each technician that makes whatever you put into it available for crafting at the vice
>Make some mutants noisier
>Allow buying and selling of damaged goods, especially rarer/more valuable weapons and armor
>Technicians should give free vice access after delivering third-tier tools

Cats are rape machines and easily the most annoying thing I've found so far (and they'll stay that way; a pack of cats can maul you to death in a few hits even by the time you're wearing power armor) but they get way more manageable once you get your hands on a rifle.
Speaking of rifles, the repair and crafting system can be confusing as shit until you get a handle on it; the short version is basically that for DIY repairs of any item in serious condition (as opposed to repairing something from ~85%+ conditionm which is fixable with glues and gun lube and shit) you need a repair kit of the right type, replacement components (which you get from breaking down other items and most of which can themselves be repaired) and a workbench. Unfortunately, the X-Ray Engine doesn't really handling crafting so well. The actual work aspect works pretty well but managing the items involved is a major headache.

Good way to keep shit repaired is to use gun oil on it. Even better if you have a kit as the effects will stack. I feel like you have to baby the shit out of your guns though constantly repairing them and making sure they dont fall below a certain condition that makes them unrepairable unless you shell out 10k plus RU. Same goes for armor. And yeah you get like 4 uses out of a heavy ass kit that costs like 10k anyway so why the fuck even bother?
You can actually break down guns and suits unto their base parts and either sell them at a tech or use them to repair your own shit which can be useful IF you find the same gun
Then there is bleeding which is constant and somehow medkits dont treat it. Its some bullshit and is clearsky tier. That being said I do really enjoy this mod and sm currently doing a loner run, my main one was and Eco. I've done 2 of the stories and I'm working on the third now. First one is actually the Dr X one and I have to say for a fan story it feels legit. Second one isnt bad either. I'll see what the third one holds.

Just check Chernobylite, even the HBO series has better atmospjere and tone than that shit.
Nailing the atmosphere is essential and that requires a ton of little details that might not be explicit to the average joe.
If they replaced khrushchyovka shitholes with Bronx ones you probably wouldn't notice, but subconsciously you would know something was at fault or missimg if you played the previous game

Yes, but 99% of the playerbase consists of redditors. The devs even abandoned their own official forums and now only listen to what gets posted on the subreddit. In the past 3 months the servers have been so horrible, it makes BF4's release state seem like a flawless technical masterpiece. The retard lead dev Nikita wanted MOAR MONEEH and released the game to chinkland and allowed chink players to freely join into EU and NA servers. The result was catastrophic. Cheating skyrocketed to peak levels. It's so bad, that there were LESS cheaters in the game BEFORE WE EVEN HAD AN ANTI-CHEAT. Now even with BattlEye, there's so many chink cheaters that it's fucking unplayable.
And finally, even though tarkov is shilled and marketed as a "ultra hardcore combat simulator", the reality is the fucking opposite. Ballistics are completely fantasy-tier. IIIA helmets can somehow stop full-powered rifle rounds, level IV plates somehow get penetrated by the sissy M995 5,56 rounds in just 2 shots, a 22 inch barrel has almost NO velocity difference compared to a a sissy 14 inch barrel, players can use painkillers to IGNORE all bone fractures and wounds so they can sprint like hip-firing with laser-accurate M4s while unironically jumping from 3-floors height without consequences.

The game boasts the "most in-depth gun customization ever" when in actuality it's not actually that in-depth, just needlessly complex, where the only choice you really have is if you want your gun to be a laser beam or look cool, since 99% of the parts you put on your gun suck shit compared to the "meta" build. Hell, the new COD has more actual functional gun customization than Tarkov. Yea, you can change the gas block of your M4 and choose what kind of color MOE stock you want, but there's hardly any actual functional gameplay change when you do so and you're just wasting your shekels if you're not putting on every recoil-damping attachment.

What I mean by needlessly complex is that, for example, in order to change the barrel and add a suppressor for your M4 you have to separately buy the right gas-block, barrel, handguard, muzzle device, and adapter in order to attach your suppressor. It's not like there's different types of gas blocks that affect how your gun functions in the game, they just force you to waste time in menus when they could've just automatically done that. Or the fact that in order to load your Mosin or any tube-fed shotgun in your hideout you have to inspect your gun, drag the magazine out, load it, then put your magazine back in. I mean I'm just nitpicking at this point but there's so many little annoyances that keep adding on until the entire time spent playing is just bitching over everything.

Better level design and random mutant/stalker encounters. Vanilla stalker becomes boring once you've explored the maps once. You now know with 99,9% certainty which areas are absolutely empty of all life and which ones spawn enemies or artifacts. This means that once you learn the maps, you sprint 90% of the time straight into where you want to go instead of being careful, because you know you won't meet anything dangerous in your path.
So, hopefully Stalker 2 will have a better A-life system and most importantly better level design. We need more interesting locations like abandoned military complexes, villages and dense forests. Vanilla stalker maps are mostly empty, especially Pripyat's.

The system itself is nice, it's just that to avoid repairing your equipement, you have to constantly clean and sew back your shit the moment the condition gets at 85-90% so you don't go through the repair process. Cleaning only works when your equipement is high enough for your gun oil or sewing kit to work, but it definitely saves you money.
The biggest problem I have is that no one but you seems to take care of their shit. I can understand a rookie or a poor bandit not being able to afford a jewchnician for repairs, but I can't believe even the most experienced stalkers have torn armor and rusty guns. The system is not even hiding it's just made to make you disassemble everything to repair and craft.
Crafing is also shit because you have to learn recipes first, which would be fine if it wasn't just RNG by finding them once in a bllue moon on dead bodies and perhaps stashes (I have yet to find a note in a stash though). The only thing I crafted is a Veles detector despite several days of gameplay. I can't even know what I can craft unless I check a tech's vice, but fuck paying for something that should be in my PDA. There should be a way to buy books or something, at least it saves you from the RNG.

Git gud, use the right ammo for the job, use the smaller repair kits, read the fking documentation ingame. its actually pretty balanced once you know the ins and outs. preperation for an hour in the zone is around 10m by now for me, at the beginning it was like half an hour. I probably have 60 hours in game
There is no fast travel pideras thats half the fun planning your excursions so that you can actually get back. I can run 6 or 7 missions in three or 4 parts of the zone and make it back with some sweet gear and not even overloaded
Have a sidearm with hollows or a shotty for fucking muties, keep your shit in check religiously. Your main goal at first should be getting a rifle platform+pistol+shotty upgraded then a suit. The only addons you need are fixed economy and maybe the dead body one. The only assignments that seem to be broken are the research assignments for scientists
check jewgle for graphics settings one of the AAs sucks ass the other is fine. I think ive had one crash in all this time.
Going dutyer is almost a must because you are right smack in the middle. Running a tacced out aks74/USP match and the russian pump atm with heavy duty woodland dutyer threads. Exos are for fags. Im probably wearing 300k rubles on me, you make money but you sure have to spend money
Only game I still play occasionally everything else is just gay, stalker is therapy

I did manage to fight my way out of X-19 with nothing but:

Man, STALKER's gameplay really takes a dive when you complete it's storyline. I know CoTZ has Questlines and all that shit, but aside from crashing quite often it's really tedious to walk from the CNPP to the Swamps and back.

Strugatsky were a crazy geniuses… That is a great novel and also sad… I very recommend to read it who didn't yet read it and likes Stalker games. Tarkovsky is also crazy genius and created great movies, but sadly not much people nowadays understand his movies…

Playing Anomaly (on Warfare no less, DO NOT DO THIS unless you hate yourself) right now. Jesus fuck, why are sniper rifles so underpowered? In a game like Hitman, Agent 47 can one-shot nearly every NPC with his W2000 but in Anomaly it takes a few shots to kill Monoshitians.
That or the godawful FPS drops I get when i'm in big firefights. Is this mod just garbage?
