It's interesting to see how much of a success Fate GO became. For comparison sake, Avengers Endgame made about 2.7 billion, while Fate GO surpassed the 3 billion mark around April. In a sense Fate GO is making more money than Disney's biggest movie ever. At this point I think it's safe to say that Fate has become a massive franchise even surpassing Zelda.
I think we also may start seeing an aggressively push with the Fate series in the west due to the massive success of Fate GO. Although at the same time Sony has implemented policies that fuck over Japanese devs and have been giving them the cold shoulder as early as 2013.
That said I don't think the PlayStation brand is smart enough to buy out Type Moon despite the success of Fate GO. Especially since we've seen them implement horrible policies for the sake of political bullshit. That said I do expect some massive media corporation try to buy out Type Moon and heavily push Fate in the west as "Pokemon but with historical spirits".
Another thing of note is that Fate is still growing as a franchise, and Fate GO shows no signs of stopping. It's basically an anime casino, but instead of winning money you win waifus. So I don't think we'll stop hearing about Fate anytime soon. If anything expect Fate Stay Night to get a Hollywood movie adaptation at some point.

I'm pretty sure most mobage are played just to pass the time. There's little entertainment compared to nearly every other game because they require little effort to play and the investment is not through skill, but merely through constantly playing every day. That's why they're so popular. They require little effort while throwing a ton of rewards at you. Any difficulty is usually through numbers which can be beaten through grinding to some extent.
Mind you, a large majority don't spend money on these games. It's all in the hopes that the game gets popular enough so whales will invest into it. It being gambling doesn't matter to most people unless they're dumb enough to throw money into it.

I gave it a try a while back and I really don't get the draw of this game. I might be able to understand if there were relationship and interactions with autistic levels of detail put into them. It's obviously not like the Fate series doesn't make enough money for them to afford it. But even at the most ideal it's get lucky and draw the character you want, put them in your team, do an ungodly number of fights, which you can only do so many if you don't want to pay more, with them to unlock a new png and a few lines of dialog. Really the only stand out thing about this game that the soundtrack is better then any mobileshit game has the right to be.
