What you're going to want to do is buy some olympic dumbbell handles such as the ones in the pic. They have the same hole size as an olympic barbell then just buy olympic weights and you'll be able to use both a barbell and dumbbells with the same weights.
You'll want
4x2.5lb plates
4x5lb plates
4x10lb plates
4x25lb plates
That should allow for a maximum 85lbs on each dumbbell which should be definitely enough to get in shape with. You don't need to get the 25lb ones until you need them, you may also want to consider 1.25lb weights as well to be able to add 5lbs to each lift which is generally how you're supposed to improve your strength on a lift.
On a barbell you'd just add 2.5lb weights onto it to up the weight by 5lbs but with dumbbells you'd want 1.25 to achieve the same effect. Otherwise you'd be adding 10lbs to each lift with 2.5s
This is definitely the way you want to go, don't listen to the other anons talking about dumb shit like >>16676223 that shit breaks all the time and is overpriced as fuck.
