As bad as 06 is, it needs to exist as a lesson. All the games do to serve as examples.

I'd keep the Rookie aspect and just elaborate on it for the ease of Autism bux. That said, I'd give a much longer development time so that the game doesn't crap out by the end. The structure would have a light side and a dark side, and this would let you make a villain rookie and a hero rookie. The other character you'd play as would be Sonic or Metal sonic, depending on dark or light. Each side would have a narrator. Sonic side would be Sonic and Tails, Evil side would be Eggman. There would be a connectivity bonus which is a "war" bar. By playing more levels and doing more missions for a certain side, you'll earn points for your faction and push the bar for Global Conquest.

Yeah, Colors wasn't necessarily a bad game. It wasn't amazing either. However a lot of cancer that currently haunts Sonic comes from Colors. If not for Mania I think Forces would've killed Sonic even more than 06. SEGA gives Iizuka and SoA too much control over Sonic, it's sad really.

I would say the biggest flaw with ShTH is that there are plenty of missions where you need to kill every enemy in the level, or track down things, but it's pretty easy to get to the end of a level with say 59/60 of your objective, and the game doesn't give you anyway of knowing where you should be looking for what you missed, so you'd end up just running though the level 5 times until eventually your lucky enough to find the last objective.
This could have been fixed by having some kind of objective info on the checkpoint warp menu that tells you which sections are cleared and which aren't.
Of course I'v played the game so many times i'v practically memorized where everything is regardless.

Shadow the Hedgehog. I was thinking Adventure 2 at first. But that game I hate because specifically idiots think it has any value as a game. Trick question. You can't. The franchise is spread too thin,. Too many styles to cater to. You'd have to gate sonic himself to a specific though flexible style [Adventure is the most flexible btw]. Then have other characters star in different styles. Boost could be a vehicle based thing, Lost world for less speed focused characters, 2d for a variety of stuff, maybe adventure game revival via the Chaotix. They have the characters with strong enough established personalities to make whole new franchises out of.

Future Mania DLC stuff. Team Sonic Racing DLC. REMOVING OF DRM FROM MANIA. It's the main thing that gimped that games sales. The stupidity of the story surrounding him just made Gamma shine brighter. I remember being a wee lad and having one of my first moments of disbelief at a videogame to the robot that just straight up kills itself for the greater good of reuniting a family of innocent creatures.
That scene fucked with me and I never forgot about it. Went back over a dozen years later to the game to relive nostalgia and realized that Gamma was the best character in any Sonic game. In that game there were many characters, but ironically the only one with a soul was the robot. RIP brother killer, suicide-bot of peace and love.

Really good music and his story being an NPC just slaving away only to realizing the past events to connect the dots that his master is truly an enemy, gamma's siblings are being turned against gamma. I haven't played boost yet. I didn't have many Sonic games as a kid, so I've been playing through the series lately. I just finished Sonic Adventure. I started with the Dreamcast version but it froze on Tails' last prerendered cutscene after i had finished everyone else's story too due to using a serial port sd card adapter instead of a legit disc or gdemu, so I had to play SADX to finish it. I thought it was fun, but I was surprised at the lack of polish. It honestly felt like a fan game a lot of the time. See also webm related, idk if it just happens if you run the game with WINE or if forcing best girl into the game caused a disturbance in the Matrix.

Sonic CD. Great music, colorful aesthetic - I like my 2D Sonic games saturated as fuck, cool opening and ending animations. Only game in the entire series to have an alternate "best ending" condition if you only want to focus on raw level exploration and don't want to deal with special stages. S3&K and Mania's big rings hidden in the levels are an okay in-between concept, but it'd still be nice to have a second option.
