4015bf No.16535898
Obviously while touch screen controls don't work for action games, I was wondering if this service will drastically increase the quality of iOS games and ultimately lead to Apple making an NVidia Shield like device.
For those who aren't aware Apple is making a game pass like service for iOS, which is basically a subscription service to play a handful of 40-60 dollar games. Right now Microsoft has this service for the Xbox and has been rather successful with it, my concern is how Apple plans to implement the service and if it'll take away games like Microsoft does. Additionally I know that Apple has spent half a billion dollars on the entire project and even funding games. Although while Apple itself doesn't give a shit, my concern is that developers will come on the platform and make good exclusive games with extremely crappy controls.
In any case how do you guys feel about services like Apple Arcade and Xbox Gamepass. Do you see them as a cancer of the Industry, or a nice alternative to buying games

People don't want to play traditional AA/AAA games on mobile, outside of a handful of emulator autists - and they already have their solution with no need for a subscription based service. People who play on mobile want simple distractions that don't require much attention or cognition to play - because it's just a time waster while they're waiting in line, taking a shit, or for their secret Grindr hookup to text them back. At best, mobile games serve to make the user look busy as a social "Fuck off, don't talk to me" flag to display - without actually having to do anything yet not looking from the outside as if they're actually playing a game in a public space.
Nobody actually gives a shit about mobile games.

There's very little need for a GPU that powerful in a machine with this type of CPU. I've done 3D Modeling, image editing and Video editing, and on my piece of shit, video was the only one bottlenecked in any way, and the bottleneck was the CPU (i5 4460, 3.2GHz). >and the bottleneck was the CPU
So it's even funnier that you continue to ignore the importance thereof in your gaming computer dolled up to look like a workstation.

You forget software firms anon, plenty of them and the retarded devs that use them still buy into the walled garden meme or the meme that they're somehow better for developing front end.
I actually saw a HackerNews post (was troubleshooting, I'd never visit that shithole otherwise, it's basically Silicon Valley Shitposting Central) where the topic was whether or not ZeroMQ, a library for communicating between two applications, was worth using and its flaws. One of the replies was a guy complaining who didn't realize there was an existing feature he could use that addresses his complaint. When someone else pointed that out to him and asked him how it went, his reply was "I switched to iOS development ;)" No one but Apple devs can stand being around Apple devs.

And I don't believe anyone would fall for their software if not for the shiny boxes they come in that are subsidized by the government. Imagine them trying to sell FinalCut or whatever the fuck else anyone uses those things for on their own.

I don't understand how devs fall for it at all. Have you seen Objective-C? It's like Terry Davis tried to reimplement C++ and then got raided by glow in the dark CIA niggers halfway through.

They want to be different but they don't want to actually take the effort required to distinguish themselves. It's the only explanation that make sense.

More likely they see it as a way to avoid learning new software or libraries as frequently, outside of JavaScript. God, I hate programmers that don't care about the end product and just fuck around with meme libraries because they're new.
