Can't speak for 3, but 1 and 2 are extremely low quality MH clones with an insufferable aesthetic. Maybe I've just been spoiled by Portable 3rd and World.

Maybe I'm just finicky, but I can't stand the setting at all.

I liked 1 and 2. I'd like to try 3 some day but got kinda bored with the games. Worth playing if you like hunting games. The worst thing is the lack of monster variety though.

They are alright I guess. Padded out the ass and typical anime plot. I feel like you could have done more with alien cells that eat everything and mutatate and work together to form complex life but it was made to be a multi platform/genre series so can't be to weird.

I personally hate the whole "Select a mission, complete the mission" wash and repeat shit these sort of games have. I mean, I'll play them - I did play Ragnorok for a while. Those Drill Hammers were pretty fucking fun to use and enemies would just start breaking their parts while you're drilling them.

The characters are non-memorable, the missions are bland and ultmately I just didn't care enough to finish it.

I really should go back and do so. You know, just to get it off my backlog.

Anime Monster Hunter

They're ok. Not as good as MH, so why bother with it when you can play MH? It's about on par with Toukiden as a series.

I played GE1 and really got into it, despite not being able to get into MH, but there just wasn't anything to really get me excited for GE2 (which I have but never played) or 3. Also played Toukiden Kiwami and enjoyed that, but couldn't be bothered to play Toukiden 2 even after it free to play. So maybe I just really don't like the MH formula as much as I think I do/should.

Or it could be that I played GE1 on the PSP and Toukiden Kiwami on the Vita, so being on a portable system for whatever reason gave me the motivation to work my way through. GE2 I have on PC, and Toukiden 2 (FTP) on PS4.

You say low quality, I say higher skill floor from lots of really nice QoL improvements.

1 was pretty mediocre, 2 was more of the same, and 3 was outright bad.

1 and 2 had mechanics that almost sort of would work with more refining, and 3 took those and ruined it. Sort of like what world did to MH.

God Eater 1 is trash and so is Resurrection. God Eater Burst and God Eater 3 is were it's at. God Eater Burst is basically anime Monster Hunter which can be translated to "Phantasy Star Online 2, without the levels" and while the A.I. of the monsters isn't specifically something to write home about, especially because the A.I. companions give you such an amazing advantage, the game really opens up when you decide to do the challenges which are basically GE's way of saying

which in God Eater Burst terms means you gotta go through each and every of the 100 or so missions, earning and S rank on time, and S rank on Health(perfect) and not use items. Yeah sounds easy but when you have to do it solo with 3 bosses gangraping you with enhanced aggression suddenly you'll have to master all the movement options, movement cancels, attack options, attack cancels, mode changes and mode cancels, get really gud with the guns and bullet editor, get down and dirty with devour cancels and other advanced techniques, while positioning yourself in key points on the map as to attract one boss and beat it without the others coming to rape you. Wanna be a true badass? How about you do all the bosses together?

Oh, not enough for you? How about that even when using the most cheap tactics in GEB, you're still challenged by the game at a healthy degree? Like DMC3, 4, 5 and Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2, every normalnigger and fag can beat those games on normal and easy but you know that the proper experience is hidden behind the Dante Must Die and Ninja Master.

God Eater 2 is busted and imballanced due to the company trying to do crossplay with the Vita and Rage Burst is a joke but at least GE2 offers a good idea of what to expect in GE3.

As action games I find them fun. Each has its own flaws and the meat of the challenge coming from multi-aragami fights gets tiring, but I'm a shameless weeb and the games hit a sweet spot as a competent anime-themed, grindy action game with tons of dress-up and enough depth.

No, the remake is Resurrection. Burst is just an expansion of 1, basically the G-version in MH terms.

Dude, even as someone who really liked the combat of Freedom Wars, there's no way to call a game good when it has more RNG in its weapon crafting and upgrading than any given Korean, pay to win grindfest. I would still be playing FW to this day if it hadn't been for the weapon crafting.

2 rage burst has an absurdly good OST, but it's inferior to literally every other monhun clone on the market, at least in terms of gameplay, i liked the characters, especially the little sister of the faggot who gets eaten in the tutorial of the first game.

I gave Burst a try on PC. Couldn't stand the english localization and the combat, while fast, it felt somehow less fluid than Freedom Wars or Toukiden. Not sure if the other games are an improvement.
