I don't know anything about it but if it is a client for discord like you say that basically solves nothing since your data is still going through discord's servers. Sure you may be sending less data, so discord won't know your RAM usage or be able to track your mouse movements, but your conversations, which I would say are the most likely thing to actually contain sensitive info, will still be sent, so using such a client is pointless.

That's usually not why I play video games anon. Typically you'd find people with similar interests playing games you like. Since you're on /v/ consider other interests or co-op games. For example, Payday 2 with randoms is okay. Not an entirely sociable game, but instead it's enjoyable to indulge the added risk and reward of accomplishing heists with strangers. Being alone is the absence of other people. Being lonely is the absence of meaningful human connection. I have never felt more lonely in my life than when I got married. At least when I was living in my mother's basement, I slept soundly at night knowing that I'm living with someone who actually loves me.
That said, when I'm feeling lonely, I just isolate myself further, and play single-player Minecraft. It's oddly comforting, being in a completely isolated world, watching the days pass while fishing, planting trees, building a house. That game got me through my divorce, and it's always been my security blanket for when I feel truly and utterly alone.

I'm just missing games where it was fun to explore, or games where I could plan out various interactions with other players. I enjoyed ganking in MMORPG's, finding those shortcuts on a blind run of Dark Souls, and fighting people for loot and treasure. MMORPGS have become so vanilla and laid-back because game developers think open-world PvP is too much of a risk. And honestly with modern gamers it is a huge risk. I don't know why but most folk really hate PvP games nowadays. I miss learning a huge repertoire of skills, growing a character out. Sure I would fail, but sometimes I wouldn't. Sometimes I was the one caught with my pants down and I'd turn it around miraculously. Playing against people is the only thing that is actually stimulating too. AI in most games is predictable. You can't predict people with a respawn timer.
I just miss it all. The youthful feeling of exploration, the adrenaline rush when I'd see some higher level character charging my direction, the sensation of scraping by a fight by the skin of my teeth. In the modern gaming world of "rather safe than sorry" you don't see this at all anymore.

Visual novels are a good choice, character building tends to be quite heavy, so heavy that sometimes I almost feel convinced they were purposefully made for coping lonely people, you can almost convince yourself that the characters are real company sometimes, we are talking about hours and hours of mundane occurrences and silly hijinks just like you supposedly would have with real people. JRPGs serve the same effect because they are basically VNs with shitty gameplay , but tend to have low quality storytelling unless you are into gnosticism, because literally every jrpg is a gnostic wet dream, low quality shit "gets good" when it involves your fetish, basic porn logic.

Yeah it was infested by children for a little while, but it's a dinosaur of a game now. All the kids have moved on to fortnite, apex, etc. The [surprisingly sizable amount of] people still playing GMod multiplayer are either grizzled /v/irgins who've been at it for a while, or kids with good taste that are actually fun to be around.
There's fun gamemodes to try, and they can get really wild. It's like they're separate games entirely. Fucking with the admins in DRP, random shenanigans in TTT, surviving with comrades in ZS, building contraptions in sandbox, and so on. It's a good time. Helps that the game is intensely customizable and can be made extremely comfortable and easy to play if you're willing to put the work in and modify it yourself. I stopped playing for a while but I'm getting back into it. Here's hoping S&Box actually releases someday and we get another golden age of free-form custom-gamemode comfy times.
I'm saying this because years ago, I was in your position and made a huge, lasting group of friends from this game that is still my main group to this day. It's not as hard as you think: just find some servers you're cool with, keep showing up and communicating, and don't be autistic. It's actually kind of fun to be out of your element, entering a new community and getting your bearings. Just mind the egos, tryhards, and e-thots/social vampires.
