Dark Souls 1 also had two enemies similar to this idea. The first was a two-headed lizard monster that held itself onto tree trunks to look like a vine, then attacked if you got close. Not entirely. First of all you need to aim for the chinks in the armor, and not hit the mandibles as the weakest hitzone. Second, I had imagined the boss itself spawning enemies from its behind instead of letting them fly in. Third, it needs to spawn significant amounts of enemies at the same time so you're fighting a crowd as well as a boss.
