It was made to die, had to fiddle around with pretty much most of the game, AI is braindead, there's something wrong watching youself shoot a downed only to bounce three times before dying, the Wanzer sections is actually good, but the shooting, bland environments, and fucking horrible writing is annoying, you also play as Roy Campbell and Prompto and their performances fucking suck. tThis is just like NieR Tomato, Squeenix just gave enough money for Nip Moonman Taro and Platinum, but they gave it their all while having only the leftover budget from Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 15. This fucking game had a veteran team Toshifumi Nabeshima who did Armored Core as director, Yoji Shinkawa on character designs, Shinji Hashimoto as producer, and Hidenori Iwasaki[ back in action as composer. The game had no direction or quality assurance, it works fine but goddamn, it's bland and cheap.

This is horrible thing to do when trying to do an introduction to the world's background when also trying to also do in media res, there's little background explanation for all three characters, fucking start with Wanzer Pilot-Prompto actually be with his unit before the War, and Roy Campbell do his prison escape stint when it fucking starts, and the Redhead Cop Olga helping with the evacuation of civilians, then you can have both tutorial and background shit start, but fuck that, the budget was pennies compared to FF15 vaporware episodes. And there's this, this game is between Front Mission 5 and Front Mission Evolved, the former and latter does a better job while having more direction. It's just sad.

Max Payne 3 ruined all third person shooters for me, too bad it's leftist trash though.

It seems janky as fuck. I watched some playthrough of it and it just seems like an extremely poor attempt to ape Metal Gear. Stealth is abysmal, the guns all look like toys, and level and encounter design is pathetic.

Because it becomes more about selling marketing and less about selling a game every time and there are two types of marketing: insane and weak as fuck, the latter is what this game is. The game reeks of something that everybody on the team hated and didn't want to do, but were forced to by a producer who kept insisting that this was going to be a big hit, before forcibly launching it once a deadline was hit despite the entire team saying, "no, this is shit, why are we doing this?"

The disgusting thing is that there are dozens of ways to make a good mech Front Mission game that would succeed in today's market. Another Front Mission based on the older titles would most likely succeed because there aren't any similar games anymore. If they demanded more action, they could have easily just have stolen the combat from Valkyria Chronicles and stuck Wanzers in it, and it'd probably have released before Dual Gear. Hell, people wouldn't mind a game like Front Mission: Evolve if it had a good campaign, good customization, and fun gameplay.
