Now every time I see him I get angry because his original design, while shit, reflected his personality and background really fucking well. Is there a good non-gacha Fate game? I liked Extra to an extent, but the musou got old really fast(Altera had a terrible moveset, restarting the same six levels but with a new, unleveled character with no unlocked moveset was a terrible idea) and it wasn't exactly the best musou I've played, I mean the whole aggressor mechanic is fucking boring and the fact that it's the only objective to exist in the game is even moreso.

I'd say it's fairly understandable to dislike Extra if you either aren't used to the standard JRPG grind (the RPS gameplay does it no favors and its novelty wears off fast) or if you're not that into Nasushit to justify playing it. I was very iffy about Extra the first time I played it, but I got used to it because it's a straight depiction of a HGW without shit going off the rails like almost every other entry in the franchise. It also helps that I came to like Nero as well halfway into the run.

Extra is pretty alright, it just takes some getting used to it to enjoy the game.

==A thousand times this==, I loved that EoR chapters return to form of not telling you who a servant fucking is right off the bat since they're supposed to be hiding it but Extra is the most straightforward depiction of a HGW in gameplay form I've yet to see. Not knowing who was who beforehand and having to figure it out from hints was great (except of course for Gawain but that's whatever.) It's sad that it can't be better gameplay model but I just don't know if say, an Action RPG could follow the same story that Extra did.

I don't know who you're trying to convince. I played through it, I know how it is. For normal enemies (which you generally need to grind in order to beat the boss/progress) you don't know their patterns until after several blind fights. Plus, with servant battles, even with all of the intel collected about them, you'll only have about 2/3 of their attacks known. Of course, this also possibly leaves out important attacks like when they'll use their NP or skills or whatever.

Been thinking about that article posted in the last thread speficaly the part where the interviwer was not alowed to ask about the censorship. My theroy is the reason they got premison from there bosses to censor Emiya alter in the first place is because they promised it would avoid controversy. The story never ever mentions Gudako's servants summoned seperate of those introduced in the singularity, and makes a point, especially in Shinjuku, that Hans for instance is just found there and got recruited to help. Bonus materials have called them on the level of shadow servants though to note your servants are weaker than the ones walking around in the singularities. Except that's not entirely true. EMIYA pushed himself extremely hard, yes, but its a major point that during his life, he was still fundamentally bound by his "become a hero of justice" ideology. He wasn't a remorseless killer like Kerry, he was actively attempting to save lives. His deal with the counter force let him save people from a disaster that should have been impossible to survive from, and people saw him as a monster for it. Him becoming cynical and wanting to end it all happened after he died, and it's not like a soul is going to burn itself brown.

Detroit is an EMIYA who broke his own ideals completely. During one of his talks with Medb during it, he complains about being forced to be a king, because animals are free and kings are not.

And yes, I know about Riastrad. I despise how Cu is always portrayed as wielding the Gae Bulg in so many portrayals across most media, when in the myths he extremely rarely used it, and experienced Riastrad so often. I've complained about it in these threads before, too. One of the only times I've seen his riastrad depicted was in a fucking MOBA, SMITE, where it doesn't even have its name mentioned.

Not exactly. Kind of. Jeanne Alter is something that should not, and normally could not, possibly exist. She's more akin to a completely original being who just happened to look like Jeanne and use her name, like a Deviantart Sonic OC traced on top of the existing character - it's even specified in Shinjuku that she doesn't have Jeanne's memories, has no idea what it felt like to be burned alive, and her NP is just what she imagines it would have been like. The Christmas event also goes into a bit more detail about her, but it's a bit ambiguous exactly how canon a holiday event like that actually is. I'm sure Cu Alter isn't exactly a real aspect of Cu, since he was twisted a bit to be more like what Medb wanted, though I interpret it as being more that she's bringing out the aspects of him she liked most. Unlike Jeanne Alter, he is based on real traits Cu had – only twisted to Medb’s preferences. He makes it pretty clear that despite being summoned by her, he doesn't actually like her, and only tolerates her because she's his master - or when summoned by you, if you happen to have her too, he even gets a line about not liking being around her but tolerating her because she's an ally.

The mythological Cu was very much like a trained dog, albeit very poorly trained and still almost feral. When he was a child, still named Setanta, and beat a group of children to a pulp during a riastrad and was only stopped because King Conchobar intervened. Later, Conchobar invited "Setanta" to visit a famous smith, Culann, but Culann had forgotten to take his guard dog in before Setanta arrived, and feeling threatened by the dog, Setanta slaughtered it effortlessly. To apologize, Setanta offered to raise the dog’s pups, and serve as Culann's replacement guard dog - thus being named Culann's Hound, or Cu Chulainn. Remember Fragarach? Excalibur can be countered by killing Artoria instantly before she sics the blade of light on the Stand user. Star Platinum, The World, or even some other crazy stand like Rolling Stones could be able to give the Stand user a chance to disable Artoria before ECKSUCARIBAH, and that's not even counting OP stands like GER or Tusk Act .

Jotaro and Dio can time stop, so they can probably avoid the excalibur itself. Although Jotaro may still not have enough power to put up a good fight against a servant-tier enemy, in this case Artoria. Dio would probably get some sort of bullshit boost in powerlevel due to being a vampire in a type moon work crossover so the same weakness doesn't apply here.

Valentine would probably die too quickly in an excaliblast to actually be able to switch with a parallel version of himself, although I admit I don't exactly remember how quickly that ability works when applied to himself. If Love Train is the problem here the holy nature of excalibur would probably bullshit through it. Pulling out another Artoria from a parallel dimension might work, but I don't know if the fact that servants aren't technically physical beings would bullshit that either.

Diavolo is another person with a neat trick that never the less I don't believe would have the base power to fight a servant, same with Johnny who also has a massive mobility issue. In fact I don't believe Tusk would allow him to even tank or avoid the excalibur, where as at least Diavolo could skip through it.

Giorno is bullshit himself, and could in fact probably take down Artoria with GER. He would however be weak to other servants who can outbullshit him like the old man of the mountain, but that's a completely different tier of discussion.

The reason why everyone is bringing up the same stands is because they're popular and somewhat knowable speeds. It'd be more harder to argue for someone like say Okayasu or Purple Haze, because it's less easy to say how they would react. You can argue that the Hanged Man could escape through using Artoria's eye, but I don't know.

Also, the situation is a bit unfair for the stand users right off the bat. It's like saying for a fate character to survive GER's loop immediately. It puts the rest at a disadvantage and might be something they might not even do in character.

You earn Oda's and other rewards by getting points, you get points as another drop from missions. You get your first copy at 100000 points.

10 AP for Brown Gourds, 20 AP for Blue Bowls, whichever 40 AP for the Black Kettles and points. Make sure you're doing the 1 AP quest available every 24 hours as that is your main source of points. The drops are not what's going to bite your ass, it's the points. The best way to get points is once a day quests that expire after 24 hours and they can only be done once. You want the shop CEs ASAP to do the one time quests. Unless the Rerun changes the rates, farming the 40AP for points is dogshit. Therefore, you want to rush the Shop CEs for the once a days.

The drop rates are garbage for the items you need in the shop. Half the time the stuff won't even drop.

If you're talking about the nobu you get at 100k pts I believe the FIRST temporary nobu we get during the event story quests is simply replaced by that permanent version. Otherwise CE's/servants are always put in the giftbox.
