I mean, XP is well optimized for an OS (at least compared with Vista, 8 or 10) but that alone would take at least half of what you have. You can barely run Vanilla Minecraft properly with half a gig and you want to use that rig for a modpack that's crammed full of shit?

Everyone had a toaster at one point, you're not unique there. But most people understood the limitations of what they had and went with something that worked for what they had. Emulating handheld consoles or maybe even PSX will work for you, as will pretty much any abandonware or old game.
But you can't expect something as shitty as your setup to run something that struggles to run okay on modern machines.

You should have got a better rig by now, 1gb + Windows XP was barely acceptable in 2000. And don't give me the fucking excuse that it's expensive or that you don't want to join the botnet with newer Windows versions.
RAM's the cheapest component to buy and if you cared about security, you'd be using Linux already. But you probably also have a cheap ass CPU and graphics card anyway.
