It's a gimmick on Smash bros 3ds for example.

Majora's Mask uses it for the camera, but I never got the hang of it. It's really uncomfortable to use.

It's basically a Trackpoint, which used to be common on laptops as a pointing device before touchpads caught on. You still see them on Thinkpads though. The trick is that the stick doesn't move but it's pressure-sensitive. I found it works pretty well for the homebrew port of Hexen II. Normal thumbsticks are awful.

MonHun is the only game where you really need it but it's useful in Galaxy Force 2 and Smash. The circle pad pro was better in every way.

Off the top of my head, codename steam, resident evil chronicles, Ace Combat Kid Icarus, and MGS3 use it.
Also, iif you haven't allready done it, take out that shitty rubber nub and replace it with a psp 1000 cap. It's lightyears ahead.

Zelda Musou or whatever it's called uses it for turning the camera. Too bad those kinds of games are dull as dishwater after the novelty of the license wears off.
