Yes, he beats the protagonist in several cutscenes because he's the writer's pet character that was like so cool. He was basically a mary sue villain.

He was one of the reasons ME3 was so hated at launch, he and the PS3 licker, Prothean DLC character and a load of other cancer. Bulkhead McBeefpunch lol. The only truly good things about the first game was the soundtrack, art direction and the writing of Chris L'Etoile. The second game had asses and tits everywhere but the plot sucked and didn't go anywhere, making it into some kind of psuedo-Marvel shlock instead of the proper science fiction game like the first one was. And then they doubled down on all that with the third game.

I wish I wasn't too casual and young to enjoy Mass Effect 2. Such a shame how the series went. 1 was rough and clunky to play but set the stage for bigger and better things. 2 played better but suffered from much poorer writing, which is important for an RPG. 3 was a disaster and pissed off everyone that wasn't a BioDrone.
