Let's say hypothetically if the denizens of /v/ ever left their mother's basement to become video game developers and create their own games instead of complaining about pre-existing games.

Assuming all expenses are paid and you have full creative freedom to do what you want and your team consists of experienced, hard-working developers that aren't a bunch of cucks and SJWs.

What would the game be about, what genre would it be, what audience would it appeal to, what engine will it use, and what platform (or platforms) will it be released on? PC exclusive, or expand to consoles as well as PC?

This but unironically. I seriously don't believe it's THAT hard to make an MMO if you're not a pajeet CS graduate-tier programmer. It's probably one of the hardest types of games to make, but if you stop sucking WoW's cock for 3 seconds you may realize that an MMO doesn't have to compete with it in scale nor design.

I won't explain what it's like because nobody cares, but TLDR it's a more sandbox-y version of Runescape.

People who are sick to death of the state of MMOs and want a fresh experience, a comfy MMO that encourages player interaction every chance it gets and doesn't have a level cap or any other kind of specific "endgame" since the focus is on the journey, not minmaxing at the goal.

World Conquest simulator. Each player controls a given area that has resource production, has certain starting military units and has certain opportunities to recruit other military units depending on territories owned, units recruited and nation chosen at the start of the game. Only those units can ever be recruited, thus all metagame is based around this principle. Naturally, there would be different types of units and some may be more effective than the others, but such details would need to be worked out in development.

Turn-Based Strategy. Think Dominions/Sengoku Rance on steroids. There are multiple board games about this type of thing that one can take inspiration from as well.

GS/4X fags. Granted, it would be a lot more simplistic.

In-house engine. Simplistic graphics and so-so netcode would be adequate. One wouldn't need to sync gamestates very frequently anyway.

Just PC because support for consoles would be a bitch. Maybe Lunix as well.
